Wet n Wild Summer 2012 Nail Pail: Swatches

This summer exclusively at CVS Wet n Wild has released a Summer Nail Pail for $9.99. The Pail includes 6 full size Nail Colors, 1 Clear Coat, 24 Nail Art stencils, 1 Nail Art Bottle, 1 Nail File and 1 set of Toe Separators. I thought that this was an amazing deal so I picked it up as part of my birthday haul. I was super excited to try out these colors being that they are so vibrant for the season. I haven't tried many polishes from the fast dry line so this was a new experience.

All 6 colors are part of existing core collections and can be purchased separably. The pail itself is cute and I think I am going to turn it into a makeup brush holder. I swatched each color for you all, so let's get started.

Wet n Wild "Sage In The City"

SAGE IN THE CITY, I may have called this *Swamp* In The City because this frosted green reminds me alligators and the Everglades which isn't entirely a bad thing. I would definitely rock this color as an accent nail it just may be a little to much for an entire manicure. I used three coats and got an opacity that I was happy with and topped it with the clear coat for a bit of shine.
Wet N Wild "9.0.2.1.Orange"

9.0.2.1.ORANGE makes me feel like my nails are on fire. This bright glittery orange has a crazy pigment to it and after 3 coats and a top coat it was making my eyes hurt from the shine. I'm not sure how I feel about it for summer but for Halloween it's a must!

Wet n Wild "The Wonder Yellows"

THE WONDER YELLOWS reminds me of a Taxi Cab with glitter thrown on top of it. It's bright yellow and the picture isn't even doing it justice as to how bright it really is. On the first and second coat I thought it was going to be a pastel summery yellow but by the third coat it really started to pop.

Wet n Wild "How I Met Your Magenta"

HOW I MET YOUR MAGENTA is a bright pink in the bottle but comes out a pretty magenta on your nails, like The Wonder Yellows I wore this with three coats. It is such a bright and fun almost neon pink/red for the summer season.

Wet n Wild "Teal Or No Teal"

TEAL OR NO TEAL is the main reason I bought this pail. I am a huge SUCKER when it comes to frosted colors like this, and this one is no different. It reminds me of the beach. This formula was a little hard to work with and was very sheer and unlike the others I had to use four coats to get the opacity that I wanted. It was very runny and started to pool at the edge of my nails at times, but because I love the color I can get over that.

Wet n Wild "Fuchsia Rama"

FUCHSIA RAMA is a pretty purply red color (fuchsia duhhh) in the bottle but as you can see when you put it on your nails it's so sheer that it's almost see through. This is after five coats and I just gave up. I do think however that put on top of a white base coat this color could really pop so I won't count it out just yet. It was really the only color of the collection that gave me big unmanageable problems so I'd say that is a win.

My favorite part of this collection are the names of each polish! I love that they all are mimicking TV shows! As a whole I really like that collection and I am excited to try out the stencils soon. I used the clear coat provided for each swatch and I found it to be a little on the runny side but it got the job done.

Which color is your favorite? Will you be grabbing the Summer Nail Pail?

  6. I haven't seen these pails before. They are cute and a great price to pick up if you want a summer nail collection. I have a lot of similar colors to these so i'll probably skip this set but I definitely think it was a smart move by WnW to make a package deal.
