MOOM Organic Hair Removal Kit: Review

MOOM Organic Hair Removal Kit

A few weeks ago I was hanging out on Twitter and I saw a RT of someone asking people to get @moomorganic to 1,000 twitter followers so I went ahead and followed (I love following new companies) and ended up being their 1,000th follower!! So for that they awarded me a prize! I never win anything so I was over the moon excited for this!!

I was excited to use it when it arrived in the mail even though I kept having all of these visions of that Friends episode where Rachel and Phoebe try out that hair removal wax that they bought from the infomercial and were told it wouldn't hurt but it ended up causing them pain until they eventually ate it during the whole Ross and Rachel "We Were On A Break" fight...anyone else love Friends? Ok, enough about that I am glad when I tried MOOM, I didn't end up with the same results.

I received the Hair Removal Kit with Rose Essence which is their Spa Formula! This was the perfect prize for me because I HATE loathe shaving my legs and Nair breaks me out, I was excited to try something else!

Kit Includes...

  • 6 oz MOOM Spa Sugaring Blend
  • 18 reusable fabric strips
  • 4 wooden applicators
  • Instruction booklet
What they say...
  • Nourishing Botanical Hair Remover
  • Removes the hair gently with the root
  • Leaves the skin hair free for 8 weeks
  • A sugaring blend, not a wax
What I say...
PROS
  • Effective, easy to use
  • No pain
  • Heats easily in the microwave
  • Can be used for legs, arms, body, bikini and facial hair
CONS
  • A bit messy
  • Misses some hairs, so you have to go over twice
  • The 6oz was only enough for both my lower legs and one underarm (I probably caked on to much though)
  • You have to reheat as you go

The Verdict...

I wasn't entirely sure what to expect with this. I tried another brand once and it left me in tears even after claiming to be pain-free.  I was happily shocked that this was actually completely painless. It was super easy to use, the directions were clear. I threw it in the microwave and then applied with the wooden applicators that they provided and went to town applying it in sections. The only downside was having to reheat it as I applied it to be sure it would spread thinly. I didn't much mind that though since there was no pain involved in the experience. It was a bit messy but cleaned up nicely and was easy to remove. I loved the smell of the sugaring blend and it actually left my skin feeling super smooth afterwards. This claims that it will leave you hair free for 8 weeks, I am 2.5 weeks in and ladies it is looking great, not a hair in site! I'll be updating you at the end of the full 8 weeks to let you know how it went, I just wanted to share this now because I really LOVED it. It retails for $19.95 US & $20.25 CAD on MOOM's website HERE which I understand some people may think is a *high* price but I'm willing to endorse that if it's getting me completely hair free and smooth for eight weeks! I will definitely be purchasing this and I look forward to trying out some more of MOOM's organic products. I always like to add when a company is cruelty free, which MOOM is!!

What do you think? Have you tried this, would you?
