June 2012 Empties!

I am so excited to finally have an 'empties' post! Since starting PROJECT 50 PAN I was convinced that I would never use up any of the stuff that I have and would seriously be on a shopping hiatus forever. I was also able to use up some of my samples, which makes me happy because I love to try new things.

So here are my June Empties and if I would repurchase them or not. If you would like a full review on any of the products just leave me a comment below.

  • One n' Only Argan Oil Conditioner - This is a moisture repair conditioner and it definitely gave my hair a little bit of life. Repurchase? Yes
  • Suave Keratin Infusion Dry Shampoo - I LOVE LOVE LOVE this. Check out my full review HERE. Repurchase? Yes
  • Befine Moisturizer & Cleanser Sample Packets - I got these from Birchbox, the moisturizer left me looking like a grease ball and the cleanser was so watery I used another cleanser afterwards because I didn't feel clean. Repurchase? No
  • Sircuit Skin Molecular Mist - I'll be honest, when I got this in a Birchbox I had no clue what it was used for and I have no idea if I use it properly (I doubt it) but at night when I apply my night cream I don't like to feel sticky so I spritz this on top of it for some extra moisture and it gets that greasy feel away. Repurchase? Yes
  • Ojon Volume Advance Shampoo - This is my new favorite shampoo. I can't wait to get a full size bottle. Repurchase? Obviously Yes
  • e.l.f. Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths - I love how gentle these are and one wipe will get rid of everything. Repurchase? Not right now. ( I want to try out the Target brand)
  • Fruit Smoothie Mask - I love these cheap little masks (you can pick them up at Walmart) but this one smelled horrific and was flaking off of my face after five minutes. Repurchase? No
  • SKIN & CO Tuber Face Lotion - I recently got an order from Skin & Co and they sent so many samples and this one has some sort of truffle formula, I don't know but I love it. Repurchase? Yes
  • It's a 10 Miracle Hair Mask - This is AMAZING. I need the full size, immediately! Repurchase? Yes
  • Borghese Body Soak - I received this in Birchbox as well, it claims to ease aches and pains (it didn't) however it did turn my bath water a pretty color. Repurchase? No
  • Comodynes Easy Peeling - This says facial peeling on it, so when I received it in my Beauty Box I was under the impression it was going to be a peel. It's not, it's some weird towel thing that basically scratched my face. Repurchase? No
I was able to use up eleven things, and I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would. This means by my PROJECT 50 PAN rules that I get to purchase two items so far. Stay tuned to find out what I get!!

Love's Sugar Kiss Body Spray and Body Splash: Review + GIVEAWAY

Love's Sugar Kiss Review + Giveaway

I have an exciting post for you all today. One because I am almost positive I have found my new "summer" scent and two because I get to host a great giveaway in appreciation for you all!! I'm so thrilled to be able to team up with Dana Classic Fragrances to offer 3 lucky followers a chance to win the same gift set that I have been loving!! This company is the maker of famous scents like Love's Baby Soft, Navy and Tabu. I remember wearing the Love's Baby Soft "Original" all through high school and being absolutely crazed over it.

This is the first sponsored giveaway that I have done, so I just want to be clear that even though I received these samples from the company for review, all opinions ARE MY OWN. I am not receiving money for this post and I was not required to post this review on my site. I wouldn't accept any products for review that I wouldn't actually use myself. I can promise you that no matter where the products come from good or bad, I will always provide you with my most honest and straight forward opinion!! I want to review these for you first so you know what you're entering to win. Let's get started!

LOVE'S SUGAR KISS BODY SPLASH - 10oz

What they say...
  • Smell as sweet as a perfect kiss
  • Put it on and everyone loves you like candy
  • Sweet, with a hint of vanilla
What I say...

PROS
  • Perfect scent for summer
  • Not too strong
  • You can spray it anywhere (body, hair and clothes)
  • Lasts for 8+ hours
  • BUDGET FRIENDLY - $5.00
CONS
  • The bottle is huge (which really isn't a *bad* thing) I just have no idea where to store it since it is to big for my medicine cabinet
The Verdict...

This is AMAZING. When you put it on you smell almost like cotton candy but with a twinge of vanilla and sugar. I have completely replaced my other perfumes with it and each day that I have worn it I have received so many compliments. Even the cashier at the grocery wanted to know what I was wearing and my husband went crazy for the scent! I would absolutely purchase this in the future!

LOVE'S SUGAR KISS ALL OVER BODY SPRAY - 2.5 oz.

What the say...
  • A sweet fragrance that has a blend of brown sugar, caramel accents, jasmine, vanilla musk and sugar cane.
  • Extra sweet fragrance
  • All over body spray, let's you go wild
What I say...

PROS
  • The same sweet fragrance as the splash
  • The aerosol can allows you to do an "all-over" spritz
  • Small enough to throw in your purse or beach bag
  • Lasts 4+ hours
  • BUDGET FRIENDLY - $5.50
CONS
  • Wear time is less than the splash
  • Less product than the splash
The Verdict...

Even though this is a smaller amount, you still get the same great scent. Because I have quickly become so obsessed with this smell I may or may not have used the aerosol version to spray my bed linens and inside of my car because it smells that good. I would definitely throw this in my beach bag for that little bit of "freshening up" you need while laying out on the beach.

As a side note, I'm so cheesy about packaging it's ridiculous lol. My favorite part of this set is the spray bottle trigger because it is the CUTEST little heart and I can't get over how girly it makes me feel! I'm a dork, I know!
Love's Sugar Kiss Body Splash

I was definitely excited to review these products for you all because as you know I love anything that you can get on a budget. While most perfumes these days cost over $40 in the least this is such a budget friendly company and you get a lot of bang for your buck! I can imagine that this body splash will probably last me a year (unless I keep spraying it just to spray it and smell it). What is better than that? I know, I know you're tired of listening to me and probably saying to yourself "Just get on with the giveaway" so here it is.

The Prizes...

3 lucky followers will receive a Love's Baby Soft Gift Set which will include the two products that I have reviewed for you (The body splash and body spray).

The Rules...
  1. You MUST be a US resident.
  2. No P.O Boxes accepted.
  3. If you're not 18 you must have permission from a parent or guardian.
  4. Use the RAFFLECOPTER widget below for entries.
Notes...
  • The prizes will be sent directly from the company, once I pick the three winners, through Random dot com, I will provide the company with their shipping information
  • This contest will run from today 6/29/12 until 7/9/12
If you don't win and still want these products they are available for purchase from Dana Classic Fragrances.

Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips: Review

As many of you know, I had serious blackhead issues. So I have been trying EVERYTHING. I've tried facial scrubs, The Fab Pore (Review Here) and now I decided to give these blackhead cleansing strips a try. I bought an 8 pack of the nose strips.

What they say...

  • Unclogs and Invigorates
  • With regular use they can reduce size of your pores
  • Lose a weeks worth of dirt with one use
  • Oil Free
  • Twice as effective of the leading pore cleanser
What I say...

PROS
  • Gets rid of unruly blackheads
  • Freshens the feel of your nose
  • No oil residue
CONS
  • Hasn't reduced the look of my pores
  • A bit difficult to remove
  • Contains parabens in the ingredients
  • Leaves a sticky residue
The Verdict...

I would definitely repurchase these. I have been using them twice a week after cleaning my face at night. It actually creeps me out how much dirt can build up on your face even when you regularly wash it, because the stuff that ends up on these things should never be seen. It's definitely nice to know that they work, because you can physically see the results up removal.

Have you tried these? Love it? Hate it?

What do you do to cleanse your pores?

NOTD: Nailspiration

Yes...I make up words lol. I was so excited when I linked up for Mani Monday because I got to see so many different nail looks and one of my favorites was a two accent nail look by Amy At The Pink Of Perfection check out her look, it's gorgeous! So this is the NOTD I came up with a little *nailspiration* from my friends. I hope you like it!

What do you think? Do you like the accent nail trend? Let me know if you try it and tweet me pictures!!

Garnier BB Cream: Review

Garnier BB Cream

I have been obsessed with BB Creams lately. I pretty much want to try them all. A BB cream is basically a "blender balm" and it falls somewhere in the middle of a tinted moisturizer and a foundation. It's meant for light coverage, not to cover up all your spots and blemishes. If you have acne scaring or darks spots I probably wouldn't recommend a BB Cream, I would go for something with a little more coverage or combine one with a heavy concealer. Everyone has been raving or ranting about this BB Cream. I had to see what all the hype was about, so I went and picked some up and I have been using it for about a month now.

What they say..
  • Provides advanced skin care and immediate perfecting coverage.
  • Renews, Brightens, Evens and Hydrates
  • Enriched with Vitamin C and Mineral Pigments
  • Multi-Benefit product

What I Say...

PROS
  • Light Coverage, perfect for summer.
  • The color is about two shades lighter when applied then it is in the swatch.
  • Extra Moisturizing
  • Lightweight
  • Works perfect in place of foundation
  • Blends Well
  • Has SPF 15
CONS
  • Leaves you very shiny, definitely suggest applying a matte powder on top
  • Smells awful at first but it fades
  • Not a lot of coverage (which isn't really a con, it's what it is meant for) for someone who wants something heavy.

The Verdict...

Is this the best BB Cream I have tried? Far from it. Is it the worst? Absolutely not. This is perfect for someone who wants a BB Cream but doesn't want to shell out tons of money on one (they get pricey). I love a drugstore brand that can hold it's own against the high end competition and in my opinion this one definitely does.

Have you jumped on the BB Cream bandwagon yet? Thoughts?

**Also, if you noticed I used a bit of a different format for this review. I feel like it's more straight and to the point but I write this for you all so I wanted to know if you'd rather see reviews this way or how I usually do them in a more paragraph format... Let me know :)

NOTD: Green With Envy

I'm told that "Envy" is one of the seven deadly sins, that doesn't make me lust after certain things less though. This week I have been envying nail polishes, makeup and skin care products all over the place. I'm participating in Project 50 Pan so I have to leave it at that. So in celebration of the things I have been drooling over, I decided to grab Sally Hansens "Green With Envy" and turn it into a glittery nail of the day.

My Skin Care Routine

Ok ladies! Skin Care is something that is uber important to me, as it should be to everyone! It's probably the most important part of my daily routine. I wanted to go ahead and show you all what I am using on a daily/weekly basis. One of the things I need to stress is that I am rarely committal to skin care products because I don't want my skin to get used to a product and have it stop working. I would say I usually change things up around every 3-4 months, so I figured as I do I can post my new routine here and I am always looking for suggestions. What is working for you?

I should also tell you that I have a normal skin type and I'm not really Acne prone so I tend to pick my products based on that. The only really big issue I find is clogged pores and blackheads so I do like to fight those off.

Let's get started...

NEUTROGENA WAVE & FOAMING PADS

This is my favorite of all my products. I bought this to try out before spending a lot of money of a Clarisonic Mia just to see if I could get some good results and if I do decide to go with the Mia, I will have a form of comparison. So far, so good. I use this cleanser at night about 3/4 times a week (switching it out with another) and it definitely leaves my skin feeling completely clean.

Would I repurchase? Yes

NEUTROGENA NATURALS

After hearing such great reviews on this product I had to try it out for myself. I have to say, I've really been loving it. I use this nightly as a makeup remover and cleanser either alone or before using my Neutrogena Wave. It's completely natural, which I love. There are no parabens or harsh chemicals. It is gentle enough to remove makeup on your eyes.

Would I repurchase? Yes

SIMPLE SOOTHING FACIAL TONER

This is definitely one of the cheapest toners I have ever used. I use this twice daily, in the morning and at night. It's pretty good, but I'm starting to get concerned that it's drying me out. I usually switch out my toners more often for that reason. Anyone know of a great one?

Would I repurchase? Probably not.

ALGENIST COMPLETE EYE RENEWAL BALM

I received this as a sample in one of my beauty subscriptions last month. I had no expectations for it because I find that most eye creams don't really do what they say they'll do. I use this twice daily morning/night. With this one I have really noticed a different. It has made the skin around my eyes firmer, while targeting the dark circles and almost brightening up my eye area.

Would I repurchase? Absolutely

DOLLAR GENERAL NIGHT-TIME FIRMING CREAM

$2 for a Night Cream? That everyone raves about... I was sold. Now I wish I hadn't listened. It works great as a nighttime moisturizer and doesn't leave me sticky. I use this daily at night. I feel moisturized still when I wake up in the morning. There is a huge problem though, the smell is awful. It reminds me of the nursing home my grandmom used to live in. A mix of Bengay and I don't know what.

Would I repurchase? If they changed the smell.

MARK. BERRY GRAND EXFOLIATING BEADS

I like to exfoliate once a week, about a year ago I picked up these beads from mark. and I just mix them in with my cleanser and scrub my face with them. Since I only use them about once a week, I feel like my skin won't get used to it. I do try other things in betwen like the Aveeno Exfolating Scrub I received in my Target Beauty Bag. I love facial scrubs so if you have any that you LOVE let me know!

Would I repurchase? Yes

SOAP & GLORY THE FAB PORE

I have been RAVING about this product for weeks! I've been using it twice a week and loving it. It has made my pores smaller and gotten rid of almost every blackhead. It does it job and it does it well. Click HERE to check out my full review of this product.

SKINNYGIRL DETOX FACE MASK

If you follow me on Twitter, you know that I have an obsession with all things Bethenny Frankel. I have followed her entire career. When I heard she was coming out with skincare products and that they were budget friendly and could be purchased at Walmart, I was ecstatic. I use this mask about once a week and in the two months I have been trying it out, I love it. It smells great and is a good mask to use at the end of a busy weekend when you have been out in the sun and sweating.

Would I repurchase? Yes

WHATS NOT INCLUDED? (SUGGESTIONS PLEASE?)

  • Morning Cleanser - I have been using Clean and Clear morning burst but it isn't really doing it for me anymore. I think my face has become resistant to it.
  • Daily Moisturizer - I have been using Jergens Natural Glow Faces and I'm not even seeing a color pay off from it at this point, so while I like that it has SPF I think it's time to move on.
  • Spot Treatment - I'm not really Acne prone, but every once in awhile I have an unruly pimple that needs to be handled. I was using a gel by mark. but that hasn't been working for me.
  • Serum - I think that serums are very important in someones skin care routine, so I have been searching for a great one. I'd like to add one into my routine.
Do you agree that skin care is the most important part of your routine? Any suggestions for me on what to try next?

What is your skin care routine?

E.L.F: Punk Funk Eye Shadow Quad - Swatch

I picked this palette up in one of my Big Lots hauls, they tend to have a couple E.L.F products here and there. It was only .50 cents so I decided why not, even though it isn't colors that I normally wear. I'm sure I can come up with a look for it though.

My absolute favorite part of this palette has got to be the name, "Punk Funk" it reminds me of being a teenager. The colors are so bright and shimmery! I can't wait to see how that pink looks on my lids.

E.L.F *Punk Funk* Swatch

They are so pigmented for such a cheap palette. The white definitely holds most of the shimmer and the other three have just a slight hint. I love finding things like this!

What do you think? Would you wear these colors?

NOTD: Mani Monday

I am so excited to start linking up with Glitter and Gloss and Just Love.ly this week for "Mani Monday". I love nails and I love link ups so this was perfect for me! Be sure to check out their blogs and link up. It'll just make Monday's better.

This weekend I was super busy and had so much going on that I knew once I painted my nails Friday, it had to be something that I would love and not grow bored of since I would be keeping it until at least Monday night (that's a long time in my world). So I chose to go with an Ombre look and use a bunch of pretty purples and rock that all weekend.

I used (from thumb to pinky) Essie *No More Film*, Julep *Gayle*, Julep *Kylie*, Wet n Wild *On A Trip* and Essie *Playdate*.

I'm completely loving this mani and I actually let it go the whole weekend! In fact, it's still on as I'm writing this!

Hope everyone had an awesome Monday!! Tweet me your Monday Mani's & Don't forget to link up!!

June 2012 Beauty Box 5

I know, I know...another subscription service. I'm addicted, I'll admit that. This one I absolutely LOVE. Beauty Box 5 surpassed any and all expectations I have had. This is my second month receiving the box and I seriously could not be happier! I received the most amazing things in this months box and they were all catered to my personal taste.

This is one of the only subscription services that I have seen that gives you so much product. While at first the $12.00 price tag may have turned me off since most boxes are $10, after receiving my first two boxes it is totally worth the extra $2!

Whats Inside:

BLINC EYELINER

I was SUPER excited to get this. I have been eyeing it for awhile and I'm so happy to get to play with this! The swatch on the top is one swipe of the brush and the bottom is after running my hand under water for about 5 minutes. I did this to see if  (it claims to be COMPLETELY water and smudge proof)  what they say is true, and it surpassed my expectations! 5 minutes under water and nothing moved? AWESOME.

"Summer just got a little better with this water resistant, no-smudge, easy-to-remove eyeliner that wont run or flake"

Full Size: $26.00

THE ALL NATURAL FACE: VEGAN MINERAL EYESHADOW *ORANGE ICE STORM*

This is such a cool product and so pretty. A gorgeous orange/nude shimmer mineral eye shadow. This is perfect for an everyday nude look! I'm loving that you can use it wet or dry.

"Use these versatile, non-irritating, vegan, mineral eye shadows wet or dry to accent your beautiful eyes."

Full Size: $3.50

BLUM NATURALS: OIL ABSORBING FACIAL TISSUES

This was perfect to receive with summer just starting. I'm going to a baseball game this afternoon and you can bet that these will definitely be in my bag!!

"Keep shiny summer skin at bay (and leave your makeup in tact) with these powder-free, oil absorbing facial tissues."

Full Size: $2.99

EVERYDAY MINERALS: GIRL FRIDAY BLUSH

I don't buy a lot of mineral makeup but I'm glad I got this in my box, because it is a very pretty color for summer. It's a mix between a pink and coral and would work well for any skin tone.

"These mineral-based blushes add the perfect natural kiss of color for that fresh-faced, feminine summer look."

Full Size: $10.99

COMODYNES: EASY PEELING

I have no idea what it is but based on what I've read I am definitely excited to try it out. I'm a huge fan of facial peels and exfoliating wipes so this seems perfect for me.

"Eliminate dead cells, deep clean pores and leave your skin feeling soft, smooth and renewed with these double-duty exfoliating towelettes."

Full Size: $12.99 Sample: $1.63

TOTAL VALUE OF MY BOX: $45.11

That value is amazing, I definitely don't mind the $12 after seeing what a great value you receive. In the world of "Beauty Sample Boxes" Beauty Box 5 is definitely at the top of my list. I really can't tell you how excited I have been over these boxes. Simply amazing.

I'd give the June box a 10/10 for sure. I hope they keep up the great work. I'm already excited for next month!

How To: Saran Wrap Nails

One of the newest trends in nail polish is the "Saran Wrap Nail", I've pretty much been seeing this everywhere. Of course, I had to try it out! I'm loving it. I wanted to give a quick tutorial on how to achieve the look, it's super easy! After the tutorial I'll go ahead and post two other combos that I tried out, just playing around with different colors. The whole process takes about 15 minutes, depending on how many colors you choose. The tutorial is based of my version of "Galaxy Nails" which are also big this summer.

How To: Saran Wrap Nails

Step One: Pick a base color and paint on two coats. Allow to dry completely. (Wet n Wild *Ebony Hates Chris*)

Step Two: Pick as many colors as you'd like for the look you want. Plus grab some Saran Wrap. (OPI *Pink Friday*, Sally Hansen *Pacific Blue* and Wet n Wild *On A Trip*)

Step Three: Drip some polish onto a plate. Dip the balled up saran wrap into the polish and dab gently onto the nails.

Steps Four and Five: Repeat Step Three with additional colors.

I finished this manicure off with a coat of NYC *Starry Silver Glitter* and Julep *Top Coat*.

Below I'm going to show you that you can do this with just two colors and still have a cute manicure!.

Saran Wrap Nails: China Glaze *Flip Flop Fantasy* & China Glaze *Turned Up Turquoise*

Target Summer Beauty Bag

I LOVE LOVE LOVE free stuff, from free samples at the mall to trials of different products. It's an obsession. So when I realized that Target was giving away these Summer beauty bags I was thrilled and I jumped on it as well as told everyone I could (make sure you follow me on Twitter and Facebook) because I love sharing great deals.  I wanted to go ahead and share what I got with everyone and let you all know what I'm excited to try.

GARNIER FRUCTIS COLOR SHIELD SHAMPOO/COND

"Want color that stays bold & brilliant longer? Protect & nourish hair so color stays vibrant". I have color treated hair, that it this point I call "color wrecked" hair so anything that will help with that I am all about trying! It says that it stop dry out and fights fading so I hope I can get a good idea from this sample!

AVEENO DAILY DETOXIFYING SCRUB

"Gently exfoliates skin". I have actually been looking to change up my exfoliator so this sample came at the perfect time and even more exciting is that it is a pretty nice size so I can definitely get some use out of it. It's oil and soap free so it'll be gentle around the eyes and on the skin but still do it's job.

NEUTROGENA ULTRA SHEER DRY-TOUCH SPF 70

I have been DYING to try this, especially on days that I am using a moisturizer on my face that doesn't have SPF in it. This "dry touch" has been getting amazing reviews and it claims to be weightless which I love. I'll definitely be giving you all a full review on this product!

TRESEMME SPLIT REMEDY SHAMPOO/COND

I've actually tried TRESemme products in the past and I love most of them so I am really excited for this duo! (I also received the same set from Walmart as a sample) I have a pretty good amount to judge! I can tell you right now that it smells amazing!!

REVLON COLORBURST LIP BUTTER
*PEACH PARFAIT*

I don't want to sound ungrateful because this was all FREE and Target really didn't have to do this but I am a tad disappointed that this is the sample of the lipstick. It was shown full size in the pictures so I was thinking we would at least get a mini-tube. I am still excited to try out this color because it is one that I haven't seen yet.

Target also include a small coupon book in the bag for many different types of beauty products, so hopefully I can find some good deals when my spending hiatus from PROJECT 50 PAN is over!

I really enjoyed this bag! We're you able to get one? We're you happy with it?

DIY Sugar Body Scrub

{Source}

I have had such awesome responses with the DIY Hair Masks and DIY Face Masks that I wanted to share some more at-home DIY beauty secrets that I use frequently with you all. This week I am going to feature a body scrub. I am a chronic spray tan addict so with that comes major exfoliation! I don't like using salt scrubs because they can be really harsh on the skin so I have definitely started using only sugar scrubs, mainly I buy the tree hut brand but often times I just whip one up at home.

  • Small granulated sugar or dark brown sugar (for sensitive skin)
  • Baby Oil
  • Essential Oils
  1. Mix 1 part oil to 2 parts sugar. Mix as much as you will need
  2. Add 5 drops essential oil and mix well
  3. Step into the shower or bath and use a loofa or exfoliating gloves and scrub.
This is so simple and easy!! You wanna make sure if you have extra to keep it in a tightly sealed container so it doesn't dry up!

I've said it once, and I'll say it again. Julep is by far my favorite monthly subscription service!! I stayed with the style they chose for me this month which is "Boho Glam". Becoming a Julep Maven gives you exclusive access to great nail polish. Each month they hand-pick trendsetting new nail colors, cult faves and cutting-edge beauty products that are just right for you based on a style quiz that you take when you sign up. Commitment shy? No problem. you decide how often to receive your Julep Maven box, you can skip a month, gift it to a friend and you can cancel at any time! It's pretty amazing the product you get for $19.99

Inside The Julep Maven June Box

JULEP DAYLIGHT DEFENSE SPF 30The one-step solution for beautiful hands, nails, and skin. Vitamin E hydrates skin and strengthens nails, while built-in SPF helps guard against fine lines and sun spots. I've already been using this lotion and it's super hydrating. Loving it. VALUE: $28.00

JULEP NAIL COLOR "DAISY" - This is a bright yellow creme based polish. I won't lie, it kind of reminds me of Big Bird. VALUE: $14.00

JULEP NAIL COLOR "ROBIN' - This polish has the perfect name because it is an awesome robin's egg blue creme. I'm really loving this color family lately. VALUE: $14.00

JULEP DAYLIGHT DEFENSE SPF 15 LIP BALMNourish, hydrate, and protect your lips with this vanilla mint flavored lip balm. I'm definitely excited for this because I got one in my Mystery Box so now I have two :)  VALUE: $6.00

Total Value of this box: $62.00 and I was able to get it for $19.99 with the subscription service!

Julep *Daisy*

DAISY is a bright yellow but is very sheer this is four coats and a top coat of Seche Vite. I would definitely recommend a white base for this polish.

Julep *Robin*

ROBIN is a gorgeous tropical blue that is almost completely opaque with one coat but I did two for good measure and used a top coat of Seche Vite.

I really loved my June box!!
