Knotieties: Review & Feature

Knotieties are super soft luxe hair ties. I was so excited when I came across these because I just love the similar version which are Twistbands and I have raved about them but I just couldn't justify putting out the money for 3 hair ties and not many options. So when I found these and saw all the options you could get from colors to designs and the bang you got for your buck. I knew this would be something I was interested in!! I contacted the owner immediately to place an order and ask if she would mind if I did a feature post on her hair ties.

I knew immediately that I had to have the animal print and the puka shells and I also chose the bright colors for summer. I was anxious to place my order and get these here as quick as I could. You get so many hair ties for a variety of budget friendly prices depending on which design you choose. The shop owner was nice enough to throw in some extras for me of her top sellers and I love them so much!

These are by far the softest hair ties I have ever used! Besides just being soft, they don't leave dents in your hair and as if that wasn't enough they don't cause breakage or tearing when you pull them out! I have such thin and damaged hair that a soft hair tie is a must for me because  I usually find that any stretchy band will break strands of my hair when I pull it out. These are perfect and are extra gentle on the hair.

One of the best parts is the fact that not only are these awesome hair ties but they make for some pretty nice arm candy as well. She threw in that gorgeous bracelet for me and I absolutely love it. I even wear just the plain knotieties as an addition to my arm stacks.

These are great if you are looking for a hair tie that won't break your hair and leave those ugly dents behind. I have been wearing them daily and I just wanted to share with everyone an alternative to the expensive brands that has an even better design and is actually must softer. These are a great alternative to your everyday hair tie and I highly recommend them. I can't wait to purchase some for gifts!

                                            ::SHOP::  ::BLOG::  ::FACEBOOK::  ::TWITTER::

Definitely follow along on the Knotieties blog and Facebook pages as she is always hosting really awesome giveaways!!

What do you think? Love it?

Quick Swatch: Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadow "Bad to the Bronze"

MAYBELLINE COLOR TATTOO *BAD TO THE BRONZE*

Maybelline Color Tattoo Bad to the Bronze Swatch

QUICK FACTS
  • 24 hour wear
  • Cream shadow
  • Can be used as eye shadow base

This is the first color tattoo shadow I purchased. I had heard that the consistency was similar to MAC paint pots and I thought this would be the perfect shade to try out. It's highly pigmented and goes on smooth. I'm going to try this out as both a base for shadow and as an actual eye shadow so look for it in an upcoming eye of the day. This color is perfect for summer and would blend nicely with some light pastel shades.

Have you tried these? Thoughts?

instaLife Link Up

I am linking up again this week with Brooke over at SILVER LINING for the instaLIFE Link Up and I wanna share with you my week in photo's through Instagram.

So my week was a pretty fun one! I got a new haircut because my hair was so overprocessed and stressed that I figured the best way to get it healthy was to chop it off! I've been loving the Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment that I got in my Beauty Army Kit and I've been adding it to my leave in treatment (smells fab).  We had a crazy storm in Jersey so of course my crazy self ran outside to take the obvious cloud photo for Instagram! I got a lot of goodies from Sephora in the mail so that was a fun surprise, I won some nail polish in a Twitter contest and I loved it! Last but not least, my husband is building me a nail polish rack so I was trying to organize my collection to get measurements, can't wait for it to be finished!!

Go link up with Brooke and show me what you did this week!

NOTD: Mani Monday

I am super excited to be linking up with Glitter and Gloss and Just Love.ly this week with this really cute manicure for "Mani Monday". I am absolutely loving it!! I chose to do another Fishtail Braid Manicure but this time on my whole hand and using only Zoya Nail Polish colors from the Beach Collection which I won from the @RealBeauties "Mani Monday" contest a few weeks ago for this manicure HERE. It's a really fun contest so I definitely suggest checking out their twitter and tweeting them your manicures on Monday, they always have great prizes!! Before I show my manicure, I'll go ahead and post a picture of what I won which is the entire Zoya Beach and Surf Collection and a Zoya Nail Polish remover, to say I am grateful is an understatement!

How awesome is that? So excited!! Now let's get on with the manicure!

I just love the Fishtail Braid Manicure and using it with these bright summer colors made it so much better!!

Want to get this look for yourself? It's super easy to do, I promise!! You can check out my tutorial HERE and see just how simple it is.

What are you wearing this Monday? If you wanna link up with Mani Monday go check out the link up HERE.

China Glaze On Safari Collection: Swatches and Review

{Source}

China Glaze is gracing us with another beautiful collection for this Fall, On Safari by China Glaze is full of rich colors that will be the perfect accessory for your manicures this Fall. I have three polishes from this line to show you that I can't wait to bring it out and rock in October/November.

China Glaze Man Hunt Swatch

China Glaze Man Hunt. A bold cobalt blue with a creme finish. I found this to be opaque after two coats and a very even finish. It was easy to apply and had minimal streaking.

China Glaze Jungle Queen Swatch

China Glaze Jungle Queen. A purplish grey with shimmer. This color is awesome and is *almost* an exact dupe for Chanel's Paradoxal. At times it looks like a dark, smokey grey but outside in the right light you grab onto this bright purple shimmer. Opaque after two coats.

China Glaze Exotic Encounters Swatch

China Glaze Exotic Encounters. This is another creme teal finish. By far my favorite of the entire collection. More of a dusty finish. Opaque after two coats.

I am really excited for this collection! If I had to pick my favorite nail colors by season, Fall definitely takes the Gold Medal. I can't wait to see what trends will hit the web this fall.

Have you seen this collection? Will you be making a purchase from On Safari by China Glaze?

July 2012 The Look Bag

I follow one of the New Jersey Housewives on Twitter, well all of them, but this one imparticular was going on and on about The Look Store and how they had their own special subscription service for $10/month called The Look Bag. I figured it sounded like a good deal and why not give it a shot. Well, I'm kind of disappointed that I did because after signing up and receiving my July Bag they sent me an e-mail stating that they were discontinuing their subscription service and this would be the only bag I would see from them. I was bummed, but I figured I would still show you guys what I got because it was a decent bag. I won't know they total value of this bag because they don't list any of the prices and at least two of things don't even have names.

INSIDE THE BAG

KORRES MANGO BUTTER LIPSTICK

I love full size lipstick and this is a pretty color, the pigment is a little on the weak side though as above is a very heavy swatch and it is still extremely sheer.

"This sheer light-weight lipstick gives a hint of color and glossy finish without mineral oils, silicones, propylene glycol and no ethanolmines. We've made sure that this Mango Butter Lipstick is in summers hottest hue."

ULTRAFLESH GOLD STANDARD

I have never heard of this brand before, but who doesn't love more mascara? I am willing to try anything!! I'm not to thrilled about the thickness of the wand though.

"This lash-boosting mascara adds lush thickness, definition and length. Buildable mascara allows for a day look or night time look without clumping, running or flaking."

BETSEY JOHNSON PERFUME

I have actually tried this perfume before and hated it, so I am most likely going to be giving this one to a friend. It's way to fruity for me and P.S. Didn't I hear Betsey Johnson was bankrupt and going out of business or something?

"This is the first fragrance from fashion designer Betsey Johnson. This is the perfect summer scent, combining notes of pear, freesia, red apple and tangerine."

BREMENN MIRACLE CREAM

Again, this is a brand I have never heard of but I want to try it out because it claims to be a all-in-one skin cream so we shall see!

"Bremenns Miracle Cream is a wrinkle cream, firming cream, smoothing cream, toning cream, neck cream, eye cream... simply the best absolute all-in-one skin cream you have ever tried PERIOD!"

AN UPCOMING TREND

No name, no brand, no number... This kind of irritates me because while I am excited for two nail polishes I have no freaking clue what they are, the description doesn't give it away either. What if I wanted to purchase these? I don't get it.

"Each month we take to the beauty trenches and see what upcoming trends our Look bag subscribers just have to try out"

All in all I guess this was an ok bag for $10, like I said, I'm disappointed that it has been discontinued I would have liked to see what they could have come up with.

I'd rate this bag a 7/10.

Were you subscribed to this service? How do you feel that it's ending?

Philosophy Take A Deep Breath: Review

What they say...

  • Helps diffuse energizing oxygen for glowing skin
  • Blend of antioxidants helps protect skin against environmental attack
  • provides oil-free, lightweight hydration
What I say...

PROS
  • Lightweight
  • A little bit goes a long way
  • gel-like cream
  • Easy to use
  • Goes on smooth
  • No greasy residue
CONS
  • Harsh smell
  • Need more than a pea sized amount
The Verdict...

I received this sample for liking the Philosophy Facebook page and I was half expected a foil packet to come in the mail but I was excited when it came in a nice sized tube. I hadn't tried many gel-like cream moisturizers in the past, so this was a first for me. I'm in the process of rejuvenating my skin care routine and this product is going in the Holy Grail pile. It's super refreshing and cooling. It leaves your face feeling moisturized and renewed and gives a bit of a glow after application. I plan to use this as a daily moisturizer in my morning routine. I will absolutely be purchasing the full size of this once my sample is gone.

This product retails for $34.00 full sized HERE

Have you tried this? Would you?

NOTD: On Wednesdays We Wear Pink

Happy Pink Wednesday!! I'm back with a manicure that I have been absolutely loving! Again I teamed up some pink polish with some glitter, because you can't go wrong with that!

For this manicure I went a little out my comfort zone and went for a metallic look! I actually like what I came up with!!

For this manicure I went with Orly "Rage" as my main color with Revlon's "Sparkling" on top of that and I did Nicole by O.P.I in "Something About Spring" as my accent nail.

What do you think? Are you wearing pink for Wednesday? Tweet me your manicures!!

I love Ikat print, it's amazing!! So I was super excited when I watched a few YouTube videos on how to do it and saw it all over Pinterest, so I figured why not try it out... I absolutely love it.
Ikat Print Manicure

For this manicure I used Essie "Bikini So Teeny" and China Glaze "Flip Flop Fantasy" and the black and white polished are just those thing nail art polishes.

Dr. Lipp Orginal Nipple Balm for Lips: Review

What they say...
  • 100% Natural
  • Long Lasting Gloss
  • Apply Where Needed (dry patches, cheek shine, lip balm, and eyebrow shaping)
  • Versatile (nipples, lips, rashes, dry skin, sunburn, cuticles, and baby rashes)
What I say...

PROS
  • Effective and Easy to apply
  • Instantly soothes dry lips
  • Moisturizes for over 8 hours
  • No strong scent
  • Great cuticle moisturizer
CONS
  • Thick Consistency
  • Sticky
The Verdict...

I was a little turned off at first by the thicker consistency of this product but let me just tell you... After two uses I was hooked. I am a huge lip balm fanatic so I will try anything once. This one happens to be the HOLY GRAIL item because of the many different uses. I have already used it for my lips, dry patches on my feet and my cuticles. It has surpassed all expectations. For the lips it acts as a super powered moisturizer, I have been applying before bed and loving how soft my lips are by morning. When used on my cuticles, it works better than any cuticle oil I have tried thus far and it has cleared up all the dry skin on my feet.

This product can be purchased for $14.50 at Sephora or check out their website to find out where to buy it internationally!

RATING: 8/10

What do you think? Have you tried this, would you?

July 2012 Beauty Army Kit

I joined the army!! Just kidding, it's really just the beauty army but whatever, I'm so excited!! Di over at It's Just Di turned me onto this subscription service and I absolutely love her for it. I was excited from the first moment she said you could CHOOSE YOUR OWN samples. That is perfect to me, because we know I'm always complaining about one sample or another. You can't complain with this because you choose it yourself from a variety of samples. Love it.

A peek at the post card, "Hello Gorgeous, July is a time for sunshine, renewal and most of all, fun."

INSIDE THE BOX

PSSSSST! DRY SHAMPOO

I am definitely excited for this, it was my first pick! I am a lover of Dry Shampoo, my hair is so damaged that I absolutely can't wash it everyday so this stuff has become one of my staple items. I have never tried this brand before but I have a few friends who rave about it!

"The original dry shampoo to refresh and rejuvenate hair by soaking up excess oil, removing product build-up and boosting volume, Hair looks, feels and smells freshly shampooed. Cleans, deodorizes and conditions hair without water."

Full Size: $2.99

AQUOLINA PINK SUGAR PERFUME

I've been wanting to try this out for quite some time, everyone raves about it. It's definitely a nice sized sample.

The Beauty Army website doesn't have information listed for this product but I would estimate the sample is worth about $2.00

MACADAMIA HEALING OIL

Everyone who is anyone on YouTube and the Bloggosphere has been raving about these products for MONTHS but I just could never justify spending the money, they're quite expensive. I thought when I saw this up for grabs it was going to show up as a foil packet, so you can imagine my joy when it was a nice sized bottle. It smells amazing, I can't wait to try it out. My huge fear is that I am going to fall in love with it and have to buy the full size and that's a freaking lot of money for my drugstore budget.

"A therapeutic hair oil perfect for all types of hair but is especially beneficial to dry and damaged hair."

Full Size: $13.50

YOUNGBLOOD MINERAL PRIMER

I'm always trying out new makeup primers so this was a must have for me. I  have never heard of this brand before so I am excited to see what it has to offer.

"Perfect all-over primer for flawless make-up application and skin rejuvenation."

Full Size: $41.00 (This is not full sized, worth $8.20)

CELL CEUTICALS SKIN TREATMENT

I don't know what this, I solely chose it based on the description and something about volcano minerals or something and that just sounded fun.

"Uses natural enzymes and volcanic micro-minerals to gently resurface and exfoliate skine without irritation, revealing smoother, more radiant, and healthier -looking skin."

Full Size: $47.50 (This is not full sized, worth $7.11)

CONTROL CORRECTIVE CREAM

I am huge supporter of anti-aging creams and things even before it's considered "time" for them. I have a fear of wrinkles lol. So this was another easy pick for me. The full size price is crazytown and I would never purchase this, but I will love trying it out.

"This advanced cocktail  of high performance ingredients helps stimulate collagen synthesis – thereby easing the look of fine lines, deeper wrinkles and textural irregularity – while promoting smooth, even pigment and tone."

Full Size: $96.00 (This is not full sized, worth $4.80)

TOTAL VALUE OF MY BOX: $38.60

I'd say that's a pretty good deal for $12/month. I am absolutely thrilled that I signed up for this service and I can't wait for next month. I am excited to start trying some of these products!

I'd rate this box a 10/10!

NOTD: Mani Monday

I am super excited to be linking up with Glitter and Gloss and Just Love.ly this week with this really cute manicure for "Mani Monday". I am absolutely loving it!! I followed a YouTube tutorial and it was super easy to do!

It's a cute "Under The Sea" manicure and the whole time I was rocking it, I just kept dreaming of the beach with the cute little starfish at my fingertips.

The colors I used for this manicure are Julep *Amy*, Wet n Wild "Hallucinate", Sinful Colors "Hazard" and Sally Hansen "White Out".

Like I said, this was super easy to do all that was involved was a nail brush (I used a cheap $1 brush) and a dotting tool (I used a bobby pin).

Let me know what you all think!! If you wanna see the tutorial I watched click HERE
