Australis Nudist Eye Shadow Palette

Nude Eyeshadow Palette

I received this amazing nude eyeshadow palette in a giveaway that I won from the lovely Jasmine at Sweetaholic Beauty. I was absolutely thrilled. We all know that I like to play it safe and I tend to stick with nude colors and that look so this is right up my alley. This nude palette has eight colors that are easy to transition for both a day or night like. This is no different then most nude palettes, it could be a duper for many shades in the Urban Decay Naked palettes, the look possibilities are endless. The colors are super natural with a bit of shimmer. Since this is not a brand available in the United States, I did a bit of research and it looks like the colors are not original to this particular palette but different shades taken from other palettes and quads before it. They're all color intense pressed eyeshadows that are high in pigment content for an extreme color payoff when used both wet and dry.

The eight shades are quite pretty for the most part.

Shade 1, from the Intensifeye Trio in Bees Knees,  is a gorgeous white with a slight gold shimmer (definitely the highlighter of this palette)
Snap Attack, a understated honey shimmer which like it's friend to the left will lend itself perfectly to a brow highlight or inner corner pop of color
Choc-A-Block, a beautiful shimmer with a mix of champagne and peach tones depending on the light
Shade 3, from the Bees Knees Trio, is a warm chocolate brown, while not a full on matte shadow this is the one with the least amount of shimmer
Choc-A-Block Shade 2, a metallic copper brown, my favorite of the palette
A Lister Sista Dark, a cool toned dark brown with a bit of purple tones in it
Snap Attack 2, a grey brown that also leans towards purple as well
Choc-A-Block Shade 3, a dark dark, did I say dark brown, this was my least favorite of the collection as I am way to fair skinned, in my opinion, to pull such a dark color off.

This palette by far surpassed all of my expectations. I find myself reaching for it more often then any other palette. I'd dare to say that I may enjoy this palette and the color pay off a bit more then I do my Urban Decay Naked 1 palette which this reminds me of to a certain point. The main reason I have been reaching for it more often then not is the size, it's adorable, it's smaller then my phone so it's easy to travel with and fits well in my make up bag instead of having to live with my bigger palettes in a dresser drawer. This palette is small enough to fit in a wristlet, how many palettes do you know can do that? I don't own any that's for sure.

This palette has a peculiar formula and while they look almost chalk like, once applied they are creamy and buildable. Each shade blends so well with one another so you're not going to find any of those harsh lines here. My favorite shades of the palette are the first five (I'm boring, I know) and work wonderfully in creating a subtle everyday make up look but if you're looking for a night out smokey eye this palette will work for you just as well. The first seven colors would work well with all skin tones, the darkest shade is a little tricky and my not go well for us fair skinned girls.

I think this palette would work perfectly for so many different people. I believe that Australis was probably looking to mimic some of the more high end nude palettes on the market today, and I think they have a winner. I'm ok with it, I love cheaper alternatives and I am quite jealous that this palette is not readily available here in the states but in hind site I can purchase it online with international shipping and still pay less then almost every high end nude palette out there.

I'm completely smitten with this palette and beyond impressed. I'd rate it a 9/10 and would highly recommend it. You can find this palette and others from Australis here and like I said they offer international shipping so don't be afraid to try it out.
