DIY Sugar Scrub: At Home Beauty Tuesday #1

Hi ladies! Welcome to the first post in the “At Home Beauty Tuesday” series. I am so excited to bring you these posts each week. Let’s start it off this week with a DIY Sugar Scrub!!

There are so many products out there, that I am guilty of spending so much money on and I’ve been researching a lot lately and there are some things that can be created with things that most of us have right in our pantries. That amazes me, and I am so excited to start trying out these DIY beauty treatments at home. I hope you’ll all stick around with me and see what we can come up with.

Today I have a DIY Vanilla Lime Sugar Scrub for you. I decided to try this first because I had a sugar scrub that I absolutely loved and had been using for years and it was discontinued and I can’t find anything comparable. This was super simple to make and literally took me about 5 minutes.

Vanilla Lime Sugar Scrub

Ingredients
  • White Sugar
  • Brown Sugar
  • Olive Oil
  • Lime Juice
  • Vanilla Extract
Directions
Take 1/4 cup of white sugar and mix with 1/4 cup brown sugar. Add 1 Tbsp Vanilla Extra. Mix well. Add 1 Tbsp lime juice. Mix Well. Finally add 1/2 tbsp of Olive Oil and mix well. Let settle before use and mix well.
This yielded enough for 2 uses. If you feel like it may dry out, I definitely recommend that you keep it in the fridge for safe keeping, I find that it helps to keep them moisturized.
I love using sugar for a scrub because it’s a little less abrasive on the skin then salt but I am super open to trying anything. I have to say my favorite part of this DIY sugar scrub was the scent. I am absolutely in love with it. Some people use essential oils in their DIY scrubs but I found it easier just to make do with what I had and the best part was, it was edible, I have to admit, I may have had a little taste. Don’t judge me lol.
Let me know if you all try this out and how you like it! Comment below if you have any DIY Beauty treatments that you love so I can try them too!
