*I’m super excited to have the lovely Kristyn, from Glamour-Zine, here to chat with y’all today! Kristyn happens to be a favorite of mine in beaut blog land. I’ve been visiting her site for quite sometime, so I thought having her stop by and share a little somethin’, somethin’ with you all would be super fun! You can find so much on her site from how to rock in style for under $100 to thorough reviews of lipsticks and eyeshadows! She’s a busy mom so this super easy 5 Minute Makeup routine is something I’m sure she needs to use all the time. I’ll let her take it away!!
As a busy mommy of two, I know that time is of the essence. I also know that many women feel like giving up on looking good once they have children but I am here to tell you, you don’t have to! Even if you’re a busy working mom, constantly on the go like me, there is still time to look your best. I know that every second counts when you have kids, so on days when I just don’t have more than 5 minutes to spare; I have perfected a 5-minute or less makeup routine that never fails.
Between changing diapers, feeding the kids, and packing diaper bags or back packs, not much time is usually left for us. The key to having a good 5-minute makeup routine that never fails is using multi-tasking products that really work. This is my key secret to looking fresh and polished in a matter of minutes. When I have more than 5 minutes to get my makeup in place, my face routine is different and I take the time to switch up my products, but this is my go to routine for those times when I need to get it done in a hurry.
Now, I have tried hundreds of products over the past few years and these are my ‘Holy Grail’ items that I currently use to give me a complete and flawless face in 5 minutes or less.
Step 1: Prep – 50 Seconds
Foundation is the most important step in my opinion, which is why I spend a good amount of time on it. – I love using my YSBB Your Skin But Better CC Cream with SPF 50+. Talk about a multi-tasking product. This is your full coverage foundation, brightening color, anti-aging serum, pore minimizing primer, dark spot corrector, moisturizing day cream, plus UVA/UVB broad spectrum physical only SPF 50+ all in one easy step!
Step 2: Conceal – 55 seconds
Step 3: Contour, Blush & highlight
Once you add foundation you need to add back the life and dimension into your face. I do this by contouring, high lighting and adding blush. When I am in a crunch for time, I like to use palettes that include all three so I don’t have to reach for three different products. I love using my IT Cosmetics Vitality Face Disc because it includes a Luxe High Performance Anti-Aging matte bronzer, luminating powder, and vitality blush that all look very natural and pretty on my skin.
It takes me 20 seconds to contour, 15 seconds to higlight and 10 seconds to add blush.

Step 4: Brows – 40
Brows are a total must for me and I simply can’t leave the house without them done. Brows frame a person’s face and if you don’t have time for anything else, I suggest at least defining your brows. My brows alone use to take me 5 minutes when I lined them with a pencil, filled them in with a powder and kept them in place with a brow gel. Well that’s now a thing of the past, my IT Cosmetics Brow Power Waterproof Perfecto takes the place of five products; a waterproof brow pencil, brow fill-in powder, taming brow gel, brow enhancing treatment conditioner and brow brush and it’s all housed in one super easy-to-use automatic pencil.
Step 5: Eyes – 70 Seconds
I always go for a natural look with my eye shadow when I only have 5 minutes to get my makeup on. I use just three colors from my NAKED 3 palette. Strange all over my lid, Limit in the crease and Nooner in the outer V. This takes me 25 seconds. I then curl my lashes and add a coat of the mascara which takes me 30 seconds. Currently, I’ve been using the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. Lastly, I line the top and bottom of the inner rims of my eyes with Pur Minerals to brighten up my eyes. This takes me 15 seconds.
Step 6: Lips – 30 seconds
If it’s a busy day and I know I will be on the go with no time to reapply lip products through the day I always reach for a long-lasting Lip product. The three products I rotate between are the BITE Beauty Cashmere Lips, Too Faced Melted Lipstick and the Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouge.
