It’s that time of year when things start to get a little crazy. It seems like as soon as Halloween is over I get thrown into this time warp and before I know it I’m scrambling to find a turkey, make sure all of the gifts I need are purchased, and checking that I have just enough glitter for New Years Eve. During this season it’s so hard to sit back and remember to take time for ourselves. Are you with me? It just gets all kinds of crazy. I have a few little pick me ups that I always turn to during this season to be sure I am remembering to have some me time. Having my nails done is something that always makes me feel put together and I have come to depend on some pretty quick manicures to throw together while everything else is going on. Sometimes we only have 10 minutes for ourselves so I want to share this Easy 10 Minute Dotticure with you all today so when the season gets a little overwhelming, you can make sure you’re taking care of you!
The best thing about this manicure is you don’t need nail art tools. You can grab a couple of bobby pins and get the same effect. I chose to go with four shades that I felt were perfect for fall. My base coat is OPI Samoan Sand, the perfect nude. For the dots, OPI Lincoln Park After Dark, OPI Funny Bunny, and OPI Bogota Blackberry. The nude shade as a base really makes the dots pop. These colors are both from Sally Beauty and this month they come with a gift with purchase! One set comes with a scarf which you can find here and the other with cute cosmetic bags that can be found here.
Like I said, this is super quick and easy enough to be finished start to finish in 10 minutes. You’re going to use a bobby pin for each step of the dots.
STEP ONE // Choose your base coat and do two coats over all of your nails. I chose to go with the nude on this so the other colors would really pop. I feel like nude will work perfectly with the season.
STEP TWO // Your first dots are going to be your biggest. For this I used the maroon color because it had a nice shimmer to it. I alternated between top and bottom because I already had the half moon shape in mind for this and wanted it to be a little different. I went with two dots on the middle nail because I knew this would be the accent nail of my dotticure.
STEP THREE // Take the next color of your choice and trace around your first placed dot with smaller dots. With the middle nail, place them sporadically as you wish, this nail is just going to have random dots to give you an extra bit of flare.
STEP FOUR // You’re going to repeat step three and be sure to add a few more dots onto your accent nail.
See? Quick and easy, right?

So pretty! I always think I’ll do a dotticure then wimp out last second thinking it will take forever, so I’ll definitely have to try your technique.

Doticures are one of my favorite nail art techniques 🙂
I love how the colors pop on the nude base – I never would have thought of that. Love the tutorial. I don’t think I could get consistent different sized dots with bobby pins. Now, where the heck did I put my dotting tool?? I want to try a variation on this cute theme!
