Marsala Nail Polish

Get a jump on this trend and wear Marsala now! Pantone chose Marsala as the color of the year and we're loving these marsala nail shades!
I have been obsessing over the Pantone Color of the Year for pretty much ever. I was disappointed with last years Radiant Orchid, and even though it was a great nail shade it just wasn’t a color that I could get behind. This year though, this year Pantone is back in my good graces with one of the prettiest colors they’ve chosen in quite some time.

Right? Don’t you just love Marsala? It’s this rich and earthy deep wine red that just makes my soul sing. This shade is going to be the perfect statement color or bold accent in so many beauty routines this year. One of the ways that I am super excited to wear marsala is with nail polish. This shade makes for the perfect polish. Here are some of my absolute favorite marsala nail polish picks!

We are starting with an absolutely stunning drugstore find, Wine and Forever from Maybellineis a perfect marsala nail shade and I own three bottles of this for whatever reason. I think it’s the ‘wine’ I see it in the name and just grab for it. Wine Stain from Covergirl will make the perfect marsala accent to any deep blue manicure you’re rocking this season. Deborah Lippman gives us Lady Is A Tramp for a perfect seductive shade. PinkPong from Terry may be my favorite in this round up.

Next up we have the gorgeous In Stitches from Essiea sophisticated earthy toned red shade that adds to the collection of marsala nail polish nicely. A little bit of metallic with some blue reflects gets thrown into the mix with Bordeaux from Bobbi BrownFollowing closely in the race to my all things marsala heart is this amazing Tom Ford shade in Bordeaux Lust in almost the same name too. I guess that Bordeaux just does something to me. Not to be left out of the marsala empire is Butter London’s La Moss which is the darkest of the shades but one of the prettiest out there.

Last and certainly not least we’ve got Revlon’s Bordeaux and Essie’s very own Bordeaux. It sure seems like marsala nail shades are all about the bordeaux and with good reason. They’re all simply stunning.

What’s your favorite marsala nail polish?

  • I wasn’t sold on the color at first. It looked dated to me. But I bit the bullet and used the color on my nails for my 30th birthday party this weekend and I LOVE it! I used a darker color that reminds me of oxblood. I’ll also be wearing a navy dress this coming weekend for a black tie event so I think the dark wine color will pair well with the dark blue.
