How do you plan to be active in 2015? Check out these easy 5 ways to stay active in your everyday routine!

What do you all do to stay active during your everyday life? I work full time (albeit from home) and it makes it hard to fit any extra activity into my daily life. I made a promise to myself coming into this year that I would stick with our No Excuses routines and I would make sure I fit it in. Being active can mean so many things, small daily changes to big leaps. Viactiv is inviting us all share our plans – big or small – in the #BeActiv campaign. So I’m going to talk about the 5 ways I have been making sure to keep active everyday, every little bit helps.

  1. MOVE IT OR LOSE IT. I set an alarm on my phone for every two hours. Whenever it rings, I get up and do a little happy dance and take a five minute break for some jumping jacks or lunges. It’s been so fun coming up with little mini routine to do through out the day.
  2. DRINK MORE WATER. I’ve been very intentional lately to be sure that I’m getting in all of my water each day. Another way to keep it moving with this, I only bring eight ounces to my desk with me so that I have to physically get up and get more when I run out.
  3. WALK IT OUT. I park as far away from the store as I possibly can instead of circling for that up front spot. It’s been freezing cold here and this one has been a bit hard to stick but I’ve done it.
  4. WASH AND SQUAT. We do not have a dishwasher in this apartment so everything is done by hand. I’ve started washing the dishes while doing a 15-25 rep squat challenge.
  5. TAKE A WALK. If you do nothing else, if you just can’t fit anything else in… try to at least fit in a small walk each day. To the mailbox, the bus stop, or just around the block. The fresh air will do you good and so will the walking.

For Viactiv, to #BeActiv means getting involved, getting moving and getting healthier, including making sure you’re getting the recommended amount of daily calcium for bone health based on your age. While calcium from food sources is important, Viactiv comes in delicious tasting soft chews (in milk chocolate, caramel and sugar-free milk chocolate varieties – it’s the #1 doctor-recommended calcium supplement chew) as well as new gummies (tropical fruit) to make it easy and appealing to make sure you are getting enough daily calcium.

Viactive Calcium Soft Chews

Each of the Viactiv Soft Chews are individually wrapped making it easy to your calcium on the go. Viactiv Soft Chews are the #1 doctor-recommended calcium supplement chew. One Viactiv Calcium Soft Chew taken twice daily provides 100% of the daily value of calcium for most women plus vitamins D & K. They are intended to help achieve recommended daily dietary levels of these nutrients as a supplement to diet/food sources. I’ve been taking one each morning and mid afternoon in combination with my new everyday routine. I am loving the caramel, they’re super delicious.

Viactive Calcium Soft Chews

Viactiv is part of the three keys to healthy bones:

  • Obtaining an adequate daily dose of calcium from your diet
  • Regular bone strengthening exercises
  • Supplementing when diet is not enough

If your body is not getting enough calcium it begins to take it from the bones, decreasing bone mineral density which can eventually lead to osteopenia and osteoporosis. Calcium isn’t manufactured in the body, so it must be introduced by outside sources (diet, supplements)

Viactiv Gummies

I absolute love the Viactiv Gummies, they are super yummy! They come in assorted strawberry, peach-mango and pineapple fruit flavors in each bottle. I LOVE every flavor! Two Viactiv Gummies taken twice daily, much like the soft chews, provide 100% of the daily value of calcium plus vitamins D. These are perfect because they’re made for any age, so while I love them as an adult, I’ve also shared them with a friend so she can make sure her teen daughter is getting more calcium into her diet in a tasty way. They’re also gluten and dairy free!
