Thanks to Hamilton Beach for providing me with this Programmable Stay or Go Slow Cooker so I could create this recipe!
I love hot toddy’s, they’re absolutely delicious. Hot toddy recipes vary and are traditionally had at the end of the night and during cold and wet seasons. My grandmother used to make hot toddy’s all winter long. Of course, as children, we would get the non-alcoholic versions and it’s up to you and you can have it whichever way you like. Some people believe that a traditional hot toddy comprised of water, whiskey, herbs and lemon will alleviate your cold and flu symptoms. I have no idea how true that it, I just love warm drinks. We always do our hot toddy’s in the slow cooker, so I was excited to try it out in the Hamilton Beach Programmable Stay or Go Slow Cooker.
This slow cooker is perfect for our hot toddy recipe because you can select 2,4,6,8 or 10 hours of cooking time and it automatically switches to warm when the time is up. I usually let our hot toddy’s go for about 2 hours. I put all of the ingredients inside and a some cinnamon sticks.
This single clip lid is amazing. If you need to move your slow cooker over to the table for serving it will prevent spilling and it also keeps my nosy husband away from opening it up too soon.
I decided to do a fun twist on the traditional hot toddy and I went with a cranberry apple flavored hot toddy and let me just tell you it was to die for. So delicious.
