2015 was a big year for the drugstore product wise, foundations hit the shelves that were unlike any we had seen before. Rivaling their high end counterparts it was hard to find any you didn’t like. About 6 months ago I decided to go on a mission and start checking out what the drugstore had to offer foundation wise so I picked up about 15 of what were said to be the best drugstore foundations and started testing them out. I ended up with six at the end of this test that I couldn’t help but share with y’all. Plus, stick around at the end as I crown 2015’s Best Damn Foundation. Check out 2014’s Best Damn Foundation in case you missed it!
Drugstore foundation definitely doesn’t get as much credit as it deserves. These little beauties are the best of the best when it comes to drugstore foundation. Each one has it’s pros and cons as well as one definitely being the clear front runner for me and has quickly become a cult favorite for many.
L'Oreal True Match Foundation, $11.49
The L’Oreal True Match foundation is the second I tried of the bunch and it was one I had tried maybe once before but never really gave a second thought. I was super glad that I decided to give this drugstore foundation a second chance. I love the natural finish that it gives and the wear time is definitely decent. This one was also a 2014 Readers Choice winner in the Allure Best of Beauty awards. Available in 17 shades, with light to medium coverage for all skin types.

It’s definitely one of the long lasting drugstore foundations. I tested this every day for a week in different situations and I would say you get about 8-10 hours out of it.

This is definitely a drugstore foundation that lasts. 8 hours minimum from this baby.
Best applied with a foundation brush, like this one, start with dotting the foundation on your cheeks and blend outward toward the edges of the face, concentrating on uneven areas, and decreasing intensity toward the hairline
L'Oreal Visible Lift Blur Foundation, $13.99
An anti-aging foundation? A formula that works with your skin to blur the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles? Sign me up. L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur Foundation, I was skeptical about this at first but in the end I really enjoyed it. Lightweight with the formula of a cc cream almost but with an incredible flawless finish. It’s really lightweight on your skin and applies easily. Available in twelve shades and for all skin types.
Now a makeup that blurs the look of lines, wrinkles and uneven texture while delivering the anti-aging benefits of Visible Lift. For a fresh, smooth youthful finish you’ll love. And not a flaw in sight.
You get anywhere from 6-8 hours from this foundation.
Apply a dime-sized amount for full face application. For best results, apply with fingers or makeup sponge. I found the finger application to be the best way to use this foundation.
Lasting Finish 25H Foundation, $6.99
I am uber obsessed with this little bottle of joy. The Rimmel Lasting Finish 25HR with Comfort Serum foundation is essentially perfect. It offers full coverage with skin perfecting properties. This blends easily into your skin and leaves you with a natural finish that doesn’t cake up on you. It’s available in 11 shades and works well for most skin types, it’s especially great for my combination skin. Keeps me looking dewy in all the right places.
Instant perfect coverage that feels extra comfortable and lasts all day. Blends flawlessly, seamlessly, instantly and easily into the skin. Sweat, heat, humidity and transfer proof for up to 25 hours
While this claims to give you 25 hours worth of coverage, that’s probably something I will never test out. However, it definitely gave me great coverage for 11 hours without budging.
Best applied with a foundation brush, like this one. I put about a dime sized amount on the back of my hand and use the brush to apply and blend it out.

L'Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte, $12.99
Let me just tell you, we were not ready for L’Oreal to give us such an amazing foundation. The L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte is the best thing to hit the drugstore since Maybelline Great Lash. You get this barely there, flawless, demi-matte finish. Applies easily, awesome for combination skin and available in twelve shades and long wearing. This matte foundation differs from most of it’s matte counterparts in that it doesn’t leave you looking flat.
Achieve a matte finish that won’t fall flat with this air-light, longwearing liquid formula. Lightweight and creamy, foundation goes on smooth with a demi-matte finish that lasts up to 24 hours—hiding imperfections for a smooth, clear complexion.
This drugstore foundation claims a 24 hour demi-matte wear time, like the Rimmel, it’s not something I tested for that long but I did wear this to an all event from morning until late night and got a good 13 hours out of it. It didn’t move at all.
This is best applied with your favorite foundation brush, this is what I use.
There you have it, the best drugstore foundations from 2015. Now even though each of these is awesome, there was a clear front runner for me, so let me introduce you to the best damn foundation of 2015. Have any guesses? Ok, here it is… Drumroll, please.
Hands down, the best damn foundation is L’Oreal’s Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation! I am uber obessed and I’m sure it will continue to be a favorite in 2016!
