Homemade Cleansing Facial Masks for ALL Skin Types

March 19, 2013
DIY Cleansing Facial Masks
Hello Everyone,
I’m the beauty blogger behind “Beauty expression by Luchessa”. Based in Germany, with a big passion for makeup, traveling, languages and different cultures. It’s a pleasure to meet you.
We all live in a hectic fast moving world and from time to time our body and soul need a time out. So does our skin, as it’s the largest organ of our body and has to be taken care of in especially loving way.
What I like to do is to pamper myself with homemade scrubs, hair masks and facials – not only on weekends, but at least ones during the week as well.
Today I would like to share with you three cleansing face masks for different skin types. Obviously I used only one of them myself and did the other two on my best friends a few times. (Besides having a rich smelling face masks applied by someone else, immediately gives you this special relaxing effect, don’t you find?!)

Cleansing mask for normal skin.

Homemade Cleansing Facial Mask

Ingredients: 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt, 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 egg white, half of an avocado made into puree.
(If you rather have normal to sensitive skin, you can simply exchange the egg white for 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil or walnut oil, as I did this time – it will do wonders for your face! Smooth and silky finish.)Yogurt contains milk acid, that helps to get rid of the dead skin. Honey has an antibacterial and moisturizing effect and avocado gives your skin a deep hydration and silky feel. The egg white puts a thin film over your skin, which takes all the bacteria, additional sebum and other impurities away, when you wash the mask off again.

How to: Mix all the ingredients together, until you reach a light green completely smooth consistency. (Keep in mind to use a really soft avocado, to get a much better & smoother result, as I did. Unfortunatelly I had only a hard avocado at home…)
Put the mask on your face and leave it for about 15 minutes. Rinse it off with cool water.

2 Additional Homemade Cleansing Facial Masks

Cleansing mask for dry skin.

Ingredients: Half of banana, half of avocado, teaspoon honey, teaspoon olive oil.
These fruits will have a deep hydrating effect on your skin, while the olive oil not only hydrates, but also gives a soft cleansing effect.

How to: Mix avocado and banana to a smooth consistency, add your honey and olive oil and apply the mix on your face.
Leave the mask on for about 20 minutes and rinse it off.

If your face feels a bit oily afterwards, I simply recommend to touch up with a paper towel and leave your skin absorbing the rest.
Cleansing mask for oily skin.

Ingredients: 2-3 strawberries, half of small papaya and egg white. (You can easily exchange the strawberries for black grapes, work very similar.)
Strawberries contain Salicylic acid, which helps to fight against the pimples and blackheads, papaya is great for keeping the additional sebum to the minimum and the egg white as already mentioned before, will help in this combination to deep clean your skin.

How to: Prepare a smooth consistency of papaya and the strawberries and mix in the egg white.
If your skin is very oily, you can even add a few drops of a fresh lemon.
Apply it all on your skin for about 15 minutes and rinse off with cool water. This mask is great for making it ones or maybe twice a week, but not more often, since you don’t want to irritate your skin. (mostly because of the strawberries and lemon).

I hope today you discovered something new to try for your next home spa day.

“The black and white photo challenge started as “The black and white photo challenge started as a way for women to raise their voice. To stand in solidarity with the women we have lost. To show that one day, it could be their picture plastered across news outlets with a black and white filter.” - @beelzeboobz⁣
⁣
In 2019, Turkey had nearly 500 RECORDED femicides. ⁣
⁣
The Global Burden of Armed Violence 2014 database shows that between 2007 and 2012, on average, 60,000 women were killed violently around the world. ⁣
⁣
A total of 87,000 women were intentionally killed in 2017. More than half of them (58 per cent) ̶ 50,000 ̶ were killed by intimate partners or family members, meaning that 137 women across the world are killed by a member of their own family every day. More than a third (30,000) of the women intentionally killed in 2017 were killed by their current or former intimate partner ̶ someone they would normally expect to trust.⁣
⁣
“Since the pandemic, violence against women especially domestic violence has intensified” @unwomen⁣
⁣
While the majority of homicide victims are men, women are the primary victims of intimate partner homicide, including homicide–suicide events.⁣
⁣
Drug dealers get longer sentences than rapists. ⁣
⁣
Breonna Taylor’s murderers still haven’t been arrested. ⁣
⁣
Globally, 1 in 3 women experience physical or sexual violence mostly by an intimate partner⁣
⁣
#WomenSupportingWomen looks a lot like putting in work to actively combat and also recognize violence against women. It looks like voting for political figures who don’t want to take the rights of women away. It looks like donating to causes that actively fight for these women. ⁣
⁣
So let’s #challengeaccepted that. ⁣

⁣
I absolutely wouldn’t tell a woman that her thighs were too big. Or that I hated her stretch marks. Or her belly stuck out too far. Or that her arms were fat. ⁣
⁣
So why the frick am I ok saying it to myself? Sometimes we all need a little reminder when we look in the mirrror...⁣

🔟 Creating this community has been one of my favorite things about life. What will you find here?! Easy beauty tips and tutorials, attainable fashion, endless Amazon finds, but also the UNCOMFORTABLE stuff: pap smears, depression, anxiety, the effects my husbands addiction had on our marriage, eating disorders, struggles with fertility, body acceptance, and being comfortable in your own skin. I try to keep it as real as humanly possible. Being so vulnerable all of the time isn’t the easiest thing but if it helps just one person feel less alone, I’m good! ⠀⁣
⁣
🌟 I’m so glad you’re here! I’d love to hear a fun fact about you!! 🌟 ⁣

Loving an addict is one of if not the hardest thin Loving an addict is one of if not the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. ⁣
⁣
We’re about two hit two years since Jim entered rehab and I’m forever proud of the changes he made and the man he has become⁣
⁣
For the person reading this who loves an addict. It’s changed you, I know. It made you a little harder to reach. It made getting out a bed a little rough. It’s isolated you from groups of friends. Your hearts a little more closed off then it once was. Your trust is a little bit broken. You’ve felt more alone then you ever have. You’ve felt judged. You’ve felt betrayed. You’ve felt at fault.⁣
⁣
Whether you’re past it or still in the trenches. I want you to know some things. ⁣
⁣
I need you to know that it’s not your fault. I need you to know that you could not have done anything differently. I need you to know that you can’t cure it. You didn’t cause it. And you can’t control it. ⁣
⁣
Most of all I need you to know that it gets better. I need you to know that it’s ok to feel happiness again. It’s ok to put yourself first. It’s ok to take care of your. ⁣
⁣
And you’re not alone. ⁣
⁣
I promise you that there’s a light on this side of the tunnel just waiting for you to walk through. And that light doesn’t mean it’s over, it’s just there to guide you. Because every day could be a battle. ⁣
⁣
I stayed for the battle. But that’s not the only way. If you need to leave that’s okay too. Either way. You have to get to that light. ⁣
⁣
Don’t be afraid to reach out for help. Go to a meeting yourself. Grab a book (Co-Dependent No More, was helpful for me) listen to a podcast. Get yourself a village. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF⁣
⁣
