East Coast vs West Coast Makeup Collab

Hi loves!! I’m excited today, Carly over at Lipgloss and Crayons {{whom I ADORE}} asked me to do a collab post with her and we would each feature a day and night look, as a Cali girl she would cover the West Coast makeup looks and me && my Jersey Girl self would do the East Coast. I love what Carly came up with and I hope you guys enjoy all of our looks && stick around to the end and enter our super fun Sephora giveaway, we wanted to reward a readers with something fun!! I hope you love our East Coast vs West Coast Makeup collab!

I love a good Jersey girl & there are quite of few of them out there, but two that I’m sure you all know so I wanted to give my interpretation of how to “Get Their Look”.

I think Jersey girls get a bad rap, like we’re all running around like the chicks from the Jersey Shore with crazy makeup caked on our face and a stock of bronzer well I do have a stock of bronzer but I know how to use it but I promise we know how to play it down. I love the natural look that Kirsten Dunst has going here, and it’s easy to achieve with a lovely bb cream, neutral eye shadow with a highlight for the inner corners, a brown liner and dark mascara and a soft matte lip. This look is perfect for a day trip down the shore and a walk a long the boardwalk.

For the night look, I was inspired by one of my personal favorite Jersey girls, the lovely Anne Hathaway in Devil Wears Prada. Jersey at night is a bit different, and we tend to want to look very “glammed up”! This is a pretty simple look with a simple bb cream, downplayed bronze to brown eyes with cream shadow, a dark liner and a pop of mascara go perfect with a bronze shade for blush and the bold red lipstick will give this look the perfect finishing touch.

Hello all! I’m Carly, and I blog over at Lipgloss and Crayons. I love to play with fashion and makeup and am always sharing my favorites on the blog. I teach, play, and live life in sunny Los Angeles.

California day makeup is all about easy, natural and beachy. The weather is beautiful out here in the summer, and you need JUST enough makeup to enhance a sunkissed glow. A basic beauty balm, bronzer, and a peachy cheek stain mimic days of vacation. Finish it off with a nude eye, light brown liner, mascara and soft pink lip…’re ready for the day!
California nightlife is very casual, so making the transition to evening is simple! A deeper eye ? Darkened liner ? A brighter gloss? And you’re good to go!!!
