Dove: Great Hair Affair {Interview With Celebrity Stylist Matt Fugate}

July 31, 2013

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Dove®. All opinions are 100% my own.

If you’re as over the ‘Messy’ hair trend as I am, you have come to the right place today!! I was given an amazing opportunity to chat with celebrity stylist Matt Fugate about Dove’s Daily Moisture line & their super fun “Great Hair Affair” promotion,  as well as some gorgeous hair trends that we can expect going into fall!  I even threw in a ‘big hair tip’ question, I’m a Jersey girl you know I need those! Take a look at our interview and stay tuned after the jump for some great tips & to find out exactly how Dove’s “Great Hair Affair” can benefit YOU!

I had a great time speaking with Matt! He is amazing! Can I just tell you how excited I am that we are on the same page with the messy look being donezo! If I’m being honest, I hate it.. I just want to yell at people “BRUSH YOUR HAIR”… I mean, seriously! Get a brush, you look like a hot mess and the worst part is you’re spending mega bucks on products to make you look like that. I just can’t handle it.
I wanted tips on how to get back to the basics, find out what we can all use to give us those nourished, silky, feminine, and shiny luscious locks! For me, I want to look put together, I want my hair to be smooth and touchable and shiny! Are you with me? Let’s look pretty again, ladies! It’s time to embrace healthy, touchable, gorgeous hair and leave the mess in the past! Messy is out, GLAM is in! I am always on the lookout for products that are budget friendly!! Like Matt said, Dove is a brand to stand behind, they do so much for women and this new line is completely affordable and you can grab it at the drugstore!! There is nothing better then an amazing drugstore brand, for me at least!
Dove: Great Hair Affair
I can’t lie, I la la LOVE my hot rollers (yes they’re Conair, yes they’re from CVS, and yes they’re amazing) and the great bouncy curls that come along with them! I love the gorgeous Veronica Lake type hair styles. I’ve said before, that I am currently a red head, I just needed to step away from the bleach blonde for awhile, it was killing my hair, so much that this Friday I am actually going back to my angled bob cut and cutting about 5 inches of damaged mess off the ends! I’m excited to try out my hot rollers with a bob so I can achieve those Gatsby like, close to the face curls. Heaven!
In anticipation of getting my hair back to a healthier place, after my chat with Matt, I ran right out to the drugstore and picked up the new Dove Daily Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner! It gives you 5x’s smoother hair, you know I signed up for that!!
Dove Daily Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner
I had no clue Dove had a dry shampoo? I’m definitely excited to try that!! I can’t wait to try everything out and report back on how my hair is doing!!
For more info on these fab products & ways to win 1,000’s of prizes from writing a review to pinning a look or photographing the beautiful results you get from the Daily Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner, head on over to Dove to find out all the details on the Great Hair Affair!
Are you having a Great Hair Affair? Tell me your favorite Dove products!!

I knew that Dove had a dry shampoo (supposedly it’s one of the best) but I hadn’t tried it. Today at Wal-Mart I remembered this post so I decided to pick up a can. I just used and holy smokes is it awesome. Smells so good, doesn’t leave a residue, and my hair is so voluminous after using it.

🔟 Creating this community has been one of my favorite things about life. What will you find here?! Easy beauty tips and tutorials, attainable fashion, endless Amazon finds, but also the UNCOMFORTABLE stuff: pap smears, depression, anxiety, the effects my husbands addiction had on our marriage, eating disorders, struggles with fertility, body acceptance, and being comfortable in your own skin. I try to keep it as real as humanly possible. Being so vulnerable all of the time isn’t the easiest thing but if it helps just one person feel less alone, I’m good! ⠀⁣

Loving an addict is one of if not the hardest thin Loving an addict is one of if not the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. ⁣
⁣
We’re about two hit two years since Jim entered rehab and I’m forever proud of the changes he made and the man he has become⁣
⁣
For the person reading this who loves an addict. It’s changed you, I know. It made you a little harder to reach. It made getting out a bed a little rough. It’s isolated you from groups of friends. Your hearts a little more closed off then it once was. Your trust is a little bit broken. You’ve felt more alone then you ever have. You’ve felt judged. You’ve felt betrayed. You’ve felt at fault.⁣
⁣
Whether you’re past it or still in the trenches. I want you to know some things. ⁣
⁣
I need you to know that it’s not your fault. I need you to know that you could not have done anything differently. I need you to know that you can’t cure it. You didn’t cause it. And you can’t control it. ⁣
⁣
Most of all I need you to know that it gets better. I need you to know that it’s ok to feel happiness again. It’s ok to put yourself first. It’s ok to take care of your. ⁣
⁣
And you’re not alone. ⁣
⁣
I promise you that there’s a light on this side of the tunnel just waiting for you to walk through. And that light doesn’t mean it’s over, it’s just there to guide you. Because every day could be a battle. ⁣
⁣
I stayed for the battle. But that’s not the only way. If you need to leave that’s okay too. Either way. You have to get to that light. ⁣
⁣
Don’t be afraid to reach out for help. Go to a meeting yourself. Grab a book (Co-Dependent No More, was helpful for me) listen to a podcast. Get yourself a village. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF⁣
