I am a huge fan of DIY Beauty Recipes so I love trying out new things and making up little gifts in a jar for friends! I thought today I would share a DIY Lemon Sugar Scrub with you all! Super easy to make and put together and if you stick around until the end you can even print out free labels to stick on any jars that you make up for your friends!
A sugar scrub is essential for me because I am always looking for something homemade to add into my beauty routine. This DIY Lemon Sugar Scrub is absolutely delish! You can use it to exfoliate your lips or face and even in the shower for your legs before or after shaving to get rid of all the dead skin cells.
DIY Lemon Sugar Scrub
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1/4 cup of coconut oil
- 1 lemon
- Pour sugar into a bowl.
- Squeeze lemon juice and add to sugar.
- Mix in coconut oil (add a bit more if you would like a more wet consistency)
- Zest lemon and add to mixture (reserve a little to garnish the top of the scrub)
- Add your sugars to the jar.
- Label and tie a ribbon.
See? This is a super easy DIY Lemon Sugar Scrub and I absolutely love it! I plan to be giving this out as a bunch of birthday’s for my girlfriends. You can go ahead and make as many as you want and keep them on hand! These jars will last you about 2-3 months with a pretty nice shelf life!

What are your favorite gifts in a jar? Will you be trying out the DIY Lemon Sugar Scrub?
I love this idea! I have been trying to think of a few myself. I might have to give this one a try! 🙂
I can already imagine how heavenly this smells like! I didn’t think something homemade can have such a relatively long shelf-life. Is it okay to keep it in room temperature?
Yup! I keep it room temp and it lasts awhile 🙂
I love this recipe! Good news is I just bought a huge tub of coconut oil! I will be making this for sure!
So easy and I bet it smells great too. Thank you for the recipe!
This looks great and sooo easy! I may add a drop or two of Lavendar oil-but unsure of the smells blending. I think this will go great in a baby shower gift basket or bridal shower gift basket 🙂 both of which I’ll be needing in about a month! Thanks!!
Thanks for sharing. This looks so simple, and I love the printable tags you made!
Oooh, this looks fantastic! Lemon is one of my favorites. Thanks so much for sharing at Think and Make Thursdays! 🙂
