It’s been a long time since we’ve talked about what the best haircare products are around here. I’ve done a Hair Heroes post when I was at a point in time when I was trying to bring my hair back to life so to speak. I was constantly keeping up with my naturally blonde hair by dyeing it a lighter version almost every six weeks and it definitely took a toll, I’ve been dyeing my hair for the better part of at least the last 15 years and like we chatted about in my Tips & Tricks for Color Treated Hair post it’s been every color you could imagine. Right now I am loving the chocolate/cherry/violet black, brown and red shade it is! I usually use a box of dye from the drugstore and I am always changing it up.

Even though I am not currently bleaching it, color treated hair still needs a little extra love. From color treating my hair I like to use a variety of products that help keep it looking healthy, shining and moisturized. Here are just a few of the best haircare products that are currently working for me & the best part is they’re all available at the drugstore!

AUSSIE 3 MINUTE MIRACLE  ||  $3.79 || This Deeeep Conditioner is literally a miracle worker. I have been using it for years and it helped me to bring my hair back to life and continues to help keep it moisturized and looking completely healthy at all times. You massage it into your hair while showering and let it sit for 3 minutes before rinsing. Like I said before, if I had to vote all the hair care products off the island and only keep one it would definitely be this!

SUAVE MOROCCAN OIL || $5.99 || I have a huge Suave obsession and I am always trying out new products that they have. Their moroccan oil has been a favorite of since it was released. All you need is a pea sized amount of this product, and I like to apply it on wet or dry hair by flipping my hair upside down and applying it to my ends I usually only apply it to the ends because by the roots I’ll get too much of a greasy look. It definitely helps with my split ends and helps to keep my hair shiny!

PANTENE CLARIFYING SHAMPOO  || $4.99  ||  I need something to clean the junk out of my hair that sometimes builds of from different styling products and the everyday pollutants in the air. I tend to use a clarifying shampoo to clean all the junk out about once every week or two weeks when I remember to switch it out. Some people will stress to you the importance of buying some highend clarifying shampoo and for me that’s just insane, while they may be great that does not by any means dictate that a drugstore clarifying shampoo can not do the same thing! This one is amazing and works just as well as most highend brands.

NOT YOUR MOTHERS CLEAN FREAK DRY SHAMPOO  ||  $5.99 || Dry shampoo is a girls best friend! I am a huge fan of 3, 4 & 5 day hair and dry shampoo is key for this! Just spritz it on your roots and in the nape of your neck for a quick refresher!

ORGANIX INSTANT RECOVERY MASK  || $7.99 || This mask has been my most repurchased for about the last two years! It works wonders to hydrate my hair and instantly make it feel and look healthier. I use it in the shower and leave it sit for about 5-7 minutes before rinsing twice a month!

There you have it five of the best haircare products that you can pick up at your local drugstore!

Love the 3 minute miracle! I need to try the rest of the products. I’ve never tried dry shampoo! I need it! Would this one be good for people with darker hair? Thanks!

I have not used the 3 min miracle in years but it is some good stuff! I wish I liked the NYM dry shampoo more. At the end of the day I’m greasy with it 🙁

I really need to try that Suave one. I have used the Organix Awapuhi and while I love the Organix Coconut and Macadamia nut – I didn’t like the scent of the awapuhi. I guess growing up around that scent all my life kind of turned me off. lol Great round up.

The Global Burden of Armed Violence 2014 database shows that between 2007 and 2012, on average, 60,000 women were killed violently around the world. ⁣

A total of 87,000 women were intentionally killed in 2017. More than half of them (58 per cent) ̶ 50,000 ̶ were killed by intimate partners or family members, meaning that 137 women across the world are killed by a member of their own family every day. More than a third (30,000) of the women intentionally killed in 2017 were killed by their current or former intimate partner ̶ someone they would normally expect to trust.⁣

🔟 Creating this community has been one of my favorite things about life. What will you find here?! Easy beauty tips and tutorials, attainable fashion, endless Amazon finds, but also the UNCOMFORTABLE stuff: pap smears, depression, anxiety, the effects my husbands addiction had on our marriage, eating disorders, struggles with fertility, body acceptance, and being comfortable in your own skin. I try to keep it as real as humanly possible. Being so vulnerable all of the time isn’t the easiest thing but if it helps just one person feel less alone, I’m good! ⠀⁣

Loving an addict is one of if not the hardest thin Loving an addict is one of if not the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. ⁣
⁣
We’re about two hit two years since Jim entered rehab and I’m forever proud of the changes he made and the man he has become⁣
⁣
For the person reading this who loves an addict. It’s changed you, I know. It made you a little harder to reach. It made getting out a bed a little rough. It’s isolated you from groups of friends. Your hearts a little more closed off then it once was. Your trust is a little bit broken. You’ve felt more alone then you ever have. You’ve felt judged. You’ve felt betrayed. You’ve felt at fault.⁣
⁣
Whether you’re past it or still in the trenches. I want you to know some things. ⁣
⁣
I need you to know that it’s not your fault. I need you to know that you could not have done anything differently. I need you to know that you can’t cure it. You didn’t cause it. And you can’t control it. ⁣
⁣
Most of all I need you to know that it gets better. I need you to know that it’s ok to feel happiness again. It’s ok to put yourself first. It’s ok to take care of your. ⁣
⁣
And you’re not alone. ⁣
⁣
I promise you that there’s a light on this side of the tunnel just waiting for you to walk through. And that light doesn’t mean it’s over, it’s just there to guide you. Because every day could be a battle. ⁣
⁣
I stayed for the battle. But that’s not the only way. If you need to leave that’s okay too. Either way. You have to get to that light. ⁣
⁣
Don’t be afraid to reach out for help. Go to a meeting yourself. Grab a book (Co-Dependent No More, was helpful for me) listen to a podcast. Get yourself a village. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF⁣
