GoldPeak Coffee #SipOfHome

Coffee and I are absolutely best friends. I could not function without it. We’ve been set in our little routine for quite sometime. No matter where we go on this whirlwind of life, coffee makes me feel at home. Those tiny little comforts are so easily remembered with a great cup of coffee. Is that just me? Can’t be.

Remember that chat we had about Georgia Coffee? Morning manicures are still on the agenda except now they are accompanied by a newly named, Gold Peak Coffee. Still made with the highest quality 100% Arabica beans they can find. I love grabbing a great cup of Gold Peak Coffee because as soon as the rich aroma reaches me, I am reminded of quiet mornings at home, relaxing under my favorite tree and listening to the sounds of my well-loved neighborhood.  I take this time to go over my to-do list for the day and get everything in order. I have come to depend on that quiet time to get me ready for those busy days.

There are always scents that remind us of things and for me it’s always coffee. Like I said, we go way back. Whether I’m reminded of mornings from my childhood watching my parents sip on their coffee, late nights in the college library or an after dinner treat. Gold Peak Coffee is the perfect way to start the morning, have at lunch with friends or to end your night. Instantly bringing back those memories for you.

I’m a sweet and fruity fan so their Light Roast is perfect for me! Medium-bodied light roast coffee with nutty overtones and a mild finish.  It’s just comforting and has the ability to make the craziest of days that much better. Sometimes in the midst of everything you have to do all you need is that little reminder of home to bring you back to reality and put everything into perspective! Am I right?

Don’t forget you can follow Gold Peak Coffee on Twitter and get in on the #SipOfHome fun!

Tell me, what’s your favorite time to drink coffee?

Yum, I love a great cup of coffee, especially one that has great memories attached to it! My fave memories are sitting by a big window while the snows falls outside and Christmas music is quietly playing the background. Perfect.

I love drinking coffee in the morning, outside in my lawn chair, before the sun makes it too hot to sit there anymore. It’s quiet and peaceful (kids aren’t up yet) and it’s just a nice way to wake up!

I’m not a huge coffee lover unless I can put lots of chocolate and caramel in it. 😉 And then it would be perfect for any morning after I wake up. 🙂

The Global Burden of Armed Violence 2014 database shows that between 2007 and 2012, on average, 60,000 women were killed violently around the world. ⁣

A total of 87,000 women were intentionally killed in 2017. More than half of them (58 per cent) ̶ 50,000 ̶ were killed by intimate partners or family members, meaning that 137 women across the world are killed by a member of their own family every day. More than a third (30,000) of the women intentionally killed in 2017 were killed by their current or former intimate partner ̶ someone they would normally expect to trust.⁣

🔟 Creating this community has been one of my favorite things about life. What will you find here?! Easy beauty tips and tutorials, attainable fashion, endless Amazon finds, but also the UNCOMFORTABLE stuff: pap smears, depression, anxiety, the effects my husbands addiction had on our marriage, eating disorders, struggles with fertility, body acceptance, and being comfortable in your own skin. I try to keep it as real as humanly possible. Being so vulnerable all of the time isn’t the easiest thing but if it helps just one person feel less alone, I’m good! ⠀⁣

Loving an addict is one of if not the hardest thin Loving an addict is one of if not the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. ⁣
⁣
We’re about two hit two years since Jim entered rehab and I’m forever proud of the changes he made and the man he has become⁣
⁣
For the person reading this who loves an addict. It’s changed you, I know. It made you a little harder to reach. It made getting out a bed a little rough. It’s isolated you from groups of friends. Your hearts a little more closed off then it once was. Your trust is a little bit broken. You’ve felt more alone then you ever have. You’ve felt judged. You’ve felt betrayed. You’ve felt at fault.⁣
⁣
Whether you’re past it or still in the trenches. I want you to know some things. ⁣
⁣
I need you to know that it’s not your fault. I need you to know that you could not have done anything differently. I need you to know that you can’t cure it. You didn’t cause it. And you can’t control it. ⁣
⁣
Most of all I need you to know that it gets better. I need you to know that it’s ok to feel happiness again. It’s ok to put yourself first. It’s ok to take care of your. ⁣
⁣
And you’re not alone. ⁣
⁣
I promise you that there’s a light on this side of the tunnel just waiting for you to walk through. And that light doesn’t mean it’s over, it’s just there to guide you. Because every day could be a battle. ⁣
⁣
I stayed for the battle. But that’s not the only way. If you need to leave that’s okay too. Either way. You have to get to that light. ⁣
⁣
Don’t be afraid to reach out for help. Go to a meeting yourself. Grab a book (Co-Dependent No More, was helpful for me) listen to a podcast. Get yourself a village. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF⁣
⁣
