We’re still feeling crazy high temps in New Jersey so according to me Summer is nowhere near over. I thought it was time for another Summer Beauty Nail Art Tutorial! I always gear my nail art tutorials towards beginners because I want it to be easy for y’all to recreate this home without having to go to the salon and pay to have it done. This one just might be the easiest yet. I went bright and fun and of course threw in some glitter, it’s my love language, don’t judge!
For this manicure you don’t even need a lot of tools! Walgreens is my one-stop beauty destination and only about 2 miles from my house so I headed over there to grab everything I needed & I rode my bike so I could get a workout in too. What you’ll need: 4 polish colors of your choice. Studio 35 Beauty Cosmetic Sponges & Studio 35 Beauty Nail Polish Remover Pads!
Step One // Choose your base color. I wanted something neutral & nude-ish since my ‘nail art’ was going to provide the really eye popping colors. I went with ‘Urban Jungle’ which is one of my favorite Essie shades. I went with one & a half coats and by half I mean the second coat was SUPER thin because you don’t need it to be completely opaque since we’re going to design over top of it.
Step Two // For this step you’re going to need a beauty sponge. I grabbed a pack of Studio 35 Beauty cosmetic wedges from Walgreens because they are not only a perfect edition to your makeup bag but they make for some pretty fun nail art. Most people use these sponges to do a gradient nail but I wanted more of a spray painted graffiti type mani. After brushing my bright shades on the sponge I just dabbed it all over the base of the nails in a really abstract way! Play with it and do whatever feels fun for you! For the brights I used Essie ‘Cute As A Button’ & ‘Strut Your Stuff’.
Step Three // Glitter!!! I felt like this mani needed just a bit more fun added on to it so I went ahead and grabbed Essie’s ‘Ignite The Night’ and used that to top off the abstract nail art! Fun, right?
Finished! Seriously, this summer beauty nail art is so super easy that anyone can do it at home with the quickness! Bonus Tip: Sometimes when you’re using the cosmetic sponge to dab the polish on you may get some all over your fingers. I like to a grab a Studio 35 Beauty nail polish remover pad and they work perfect for clean up! They’re also pretty awesome at getting glitter off of your nails, we all know that’s a daunting task!
Right now at Walgreens, through August 30th, they are having a pretty awesome Gift With Purchase offer! Get a coupon by texting a code or visiting http://www.walgreens.com/summerbeautygwp for a FREE travel-size make-up brush set, your gift with any $20 beauty and personal care purchase!
