I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Glitter is my love language. I am obsessed. I went looking for a glitter headband once and and just could not find them. I decided to start making my own and boy am I glad I did, it’s SO easy. I wanted to go ahead and share this quick and easy DIY Glitter Headband tutorial with y’all today. This was all inspired by some pretty fabulous Goody brushes from Walgreens that I picked up with a Buy 1 Get 1 offer they are running.
I have super fine hair, it gets tangled like crazy. It’s been that way since I was little and let me just tell you, if the TangleFix had been around back then it would have saved me a whole lot of tears, if you have a little one who is prone to tangles, you need this. The Goody TangleFix is a hand-held brush that gently loosens tangles. And when they say gently, the mean it. It brushes through them and cause zero pain. It makes my life and hair styling so much easier. Straight, wavy, course, or curly hair textures are no match for this, it will gently untangle your hair without pain. It’s easy to grip and available in multiple styles. I obviously chose the animal print because, ANIMAL PRINT! Can you have two love languages? Glitter and animal print? Ahh, my Jersey girl is really coming out. Your little one can even use this on their own to brush their hair, it’s great to travel with because it’s a small size. I currently own two, one for home and one in my purse. Another awesome part of the TangleFix is that it can be used in the shower for distribute your conditioner or any hair mask you may use! Along with the TangleFix, I picked up a Goody QuikStyle Paddle Brush. I am not a fan of blow drying my hair for an hour so this brush was something I was super excited about. It’s like a towel and a brush in one. You can go from wet to styled hair, quicker than ever. The super absorbent microfiber bristles remove 30% of water as you style. My hair dried so quick when I used this after exiting the shower, love at first use for sure.
I was able to use both brushes to get my hair styled in the way that I wanted it. It was super sleek and easy to style quickly from using the QuikStyle brush and the tangles were definitely not a match for the TangleFix. Now, all I needed was the perfect hair accessory to match the style. So let me share with you how easy it is to create your very own Glitter Headband!
You really don’t need much at all to get this headband. Some Mod Podge, a foam brush, craft glitter in the color of your choice, and any color plastic headband.
Grab your Mod Podge and foam brush and paint the mod podge all over the headband. I did a thick layer, it dries clear so you don’t have to worry about it showing through the glitter once it’s dried.
I put down a plastic grocery bag and poured my craft glitter all over the headband. I did this until all of the Mod Podge had been covered. I went ahead and shook off any glitter that hadn’t stuck and sat it down to dry. Leave it over night for about 12-14 hours and then you’re ready to go.
When you’re ready to put it on, shake off any excess glitter and go ahead and rock your new glitter headband! You want to make sure you have the right style and no tangles in your hair. Go ahead and head over to your local Walgreens to pick up your Goody TangleFix & QuikStyle brushes. Take advantage of the Buy One, Get One promotion valid on all Goody products (includes both the Quikstyle and TangleFix brushes) while supplies last from 9/28/14 – 11/01/14. You must have and use the Walgreens Balance Rewards card to get the promotional BOGO offer. You can sign up in store when you go shopping if you are not a member already.
And… how much glitter did you have to pick out of your hair afterwards? lol! Cute headband, and I’m super-curious about that brush with the absorbent fibers!
ModPodge is life-saver. I use it w/ all my DIYs! Glitter or go home 🙂
That towel-brush just freaks me out. My hair knots so easily that only a tangle teezer can get through it when wet. I just think the thickness of that one would be a disaster for me.
I’d end up with glitter embedded in my skull, woman! hahaha 🙂
What a cute idea! Love the brush!
I’m getting that quick style brush, I’ve always wondered if it worked!
What a great idea! I wish I knew some girls who were into glitter (besides me!) who I could make them for the holidays
Adorable. Showing this to my teen. Counts as homeschool arts and crafts, right?
So pretty, I like!
This is such a fabulous idea! And easy for us non crafty types lol. Oh and the no tangle brush is amazing. My daughter would have dreadlocks if it weren’t for that brush.
One can never have too much glitter! Will have to make the girl’s these for sure! We LOVE both of those Goody products! Yay for no tangles and for quick drying times!
That headband is so cute! Love that brush too, will have to get one for my daughter.
Love it! This looks super easy – I need more glitter in my life!
GLITTER ALL THE THINGS! Love it 🙂
It is so easy! I love the finished glitter headband!
That would make a cute holiday gift as well.
I use the wet brush. That towel brush doesn’t work on my hair because I have sooo much that it stops absorbing the wet and just starts being a drippy brush. Super cute headband!
Glitter ALL.THE.THINGS!!!! 🙂 Love this glitter headband!
I wonder if that spongy brush would work on my thick hair!
Super cute! I have that Quickstyle brush. That TangleFix is cute.
My hair is exactly like yours–I need both those brushes! All hail glitter!
What a great tutorial! I love sparkly things 🙂
Oh hello glitter… my bestie 😀 I need to try that brush with what looks like sponges on the bristles. lol
Love the glitter – looks like a lot of fun to make! Thanks for sharing!
this is also a great DIY for halloween headbands 🙂
I sure wish those things were around when I was little. My hair was curly and easily tangled, and my mom would comb it with one of those black men’s combs. I just begged her to cut it off all the time.
This would be so fab in orange & black for halloween!
I actually have everything to make this except the glitter! I wanted to glitter a pumpkin this weekend anyway. Perfect timing!
Love that headband! so cute!!
both brushes look awesome I neeeeeeeeedddddd them and the glitter headband is super cuuuuuutttttteeeee!
