At the end of January I went out to Los Angeles for a mini vacation with the girls and also to attend Generation Beauty, we were invited to a cocktail party the Friday night before Gen Beauty to kick off the event. Earlier in the day I had gone sight seeing with a friend so really the last thing I wanted to do was my own makeup. I decided it would be fun to head into Sephora for a makeup application, I love that they offer walk in services for their brand only artists who are in the store. We were at the Hollywood & Highland location and I ended up going with a NARS rep. Latoya, was absolutely amazing, follow her on Instagram here and if you’re in the LA area, definitely check her out!
I was super please with the end look and I just wanted to share with y’all some of the products that she used, I was so impressed that I ended up purchasing a lot of what she picked out for me.
We started off getting my skin really moisturized, the dry LA atmosphere was wreaking havoc on my skin. I’m still recovering. I was super dried out. But I also suffer from some redness, so one of the only non-NARS brands that she reached for was the Smashbox Photo Finish primer for color correcting, green cancels out the red and this really worked wonders. It’s quickly become a new fave for me.
For foundation, she chose the NARS Sheer Glow and I love, love, love this stuff. The application was flawless. It went on amazing. She used her fingertips to apply it, which I would have likely grabbed for a brush but I was pleasantly surprised.
Pairing that with the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer to cover up any blemishes and brighten up my under eye area. This was definitely going in my must buy bag because of how easy it blended and how much it really brightened up my eye area. Impressed, for sure.
In addition to the NARSissist L’amour Toujours palette, she also grabbed for the NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow in Himalia, a gorgeous shimmering topaz. She stepped outside the box a bit and took the NARS Dual-Intensity Blush in Craving to use on my eyes as well.
And the most important part of any makeup routine, the highlighter. She grabbed for NARS Copacabana Illuminator which is absolutely my new favorite highlight for pal skin. Copacabana is a gorgeous shimmering pearl.
