Skincare Challenge

November 30, 2017

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Olay. Thank you for supporting the brands we love as they support us.

If you have been following along with me on Instagram, you already know that I have been taking the #Olay28Day Challenge. I wanted to go ahead and give you all the details.

Beauty blogger, Hairspray and Highheels, is sharing the results of her #Olay28Day Challenge. Head over to the blog and see the results.

There is nothing like the morning after a long night, to make you realize you just might want to take your skincare to the next level. You look in the mirror, and just like that you look and feel a tiny bit older. Your eyes look tired and your skin looks a bit dehydrated. That’s where I was at the beginning of this challenge.

Beauty blogger, Hairspray and Highheels, is sharing the results of her #Olay28Day Challenge. Head over to the blog and see the results.

The challenge was to shake up my current skincare routine and replace it with the Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream and the Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream for 28 days. The idea behind it being that I would see real results. My skin needed a change and I was ready to find products I could count on.

The Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream is one we’ve chatted about before and one I love. Not only is it an awesome anti-aging cream but it’s also a hydrating powerhouse. It’s anti-aging moisturizing formula penetrates deep into skin’s surface to improve texture and elasticity. My skin definitely feels more hydrated when I get up in the morning. Being someone who has such dry skin, usually whatever I put on doesn’t make it through the night. But with the Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream, I’ve witnessed my skin still moisturized after a nights rest. It hydrates skin better than ten of the top creams – even the $440 cream – tested by Good Housekeeping. I am definitely finding that to be true.

The Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream was a new to me product at the beginning of this challenge. I love that it’s a creamier product. I was really excited about this one because it fights wrinkles, puffy eyes, and dark circles in an instant. I don’t get enough sleep, so puffy eyes is something I notice pretty regularly and, of course, with aging comes the wrinkles. I’ve already started noticing a differences, when I apply this my puffy eyes instantly go away. I look more awake and refreshed after each use. I’ve used this morning and night, but my favorite time to use it is in the morning before makeup because it contains Olay’s color-correcting technology that acts as a touch of concealer. So if you’re struggling with dark circles, this can help you conceal them as well as combat them in the long term.

I’m a self-proclaimed beauty junkie and I have tried it all. From super high-end, crazy expensive anti-aging creams to drugstore options. And you do not, I repeat, do not have to spend the big bucks to achieve beautiful skin. These two products are going to stay in my routine even after the challenge ends.

As seen on Instagram, this was my skin prior to starting this challenge. I have a few blemishes, some redness, but my main concern was really the puffiness under my eyes as well as lack of hydration. You can’t really see how dehydrated my skin is in a photograph but I feel like when you see the after you’ll understand because you’ll see how much plumper it looks because it’s so moisturized. Using these products has really streamlined my routine. The eye cream especially is something I am so excited about. I love how my makeup looks after using it because of the way it adds a touch of concealer and I don’t have to pile on the makeup.

Now, you can see the changes in my skin. You can see that my skin looks plumper, this is a direct result of hydration. When my skin is dehydrated it tends to look duller and almost sunken in. I’ve also noticed from looking between the two photos that the wrinkles around my eyes have started to become less noticeable and my under eye area is a lot less puffy.

I am so happy with the results, it’s such an easy daily habit to add into my routine that I plan to continue to use both the Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream and the Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream as a regular part of my skincare routine.

In 2019, Turkey had nearly 500 RECORDED femicides. ⁣

The Global Burden of Armed Violence 2014 database shows that between 2007 and 2012, on average, 60,000 women were killed violently around the world. ⁣

A total of 87,000 women were intentionally killed in 2017. More than half of them (58 per cent) ̶ 50,000 ̶ were killed by intimate partners or family members, meaning that 137 women across the world are killed by a member of their own family every day. More than a third (30,000) of the women intentionally killed in 2017 were killed by their current or former intimate partner ̶ someone they would normally expect to trust.⁣

#WomenSupportingWomen looks a lot like putting in work to actively combat and also recognize violence against women. It looks like voting for political figures who don’t want to take the rights of women away. It looks like donating to causes that actively fight for these women. ⁣

🔟 Creating this community has been one of my favorite things about life. What will you find here?! Easy beauty tips and tutorials, attainable fashion, endless Amazon finds, but also the UNCOMFORTABLE stuff: pap smears, depression, anxiety, the effects my husbands addiction had on our marriage, eating disorders, struggles with fertility, body acceptance, and being comfortable in your own skin. I try to keep it as real as humanly possible. Being so vulnerable all of the time isn’t the easiest thing but if it helps just one person feel less alone, I’m good! ⠀⁣

Loving an addict is one of if not the hardest thin Loving an addict is one of if not the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. ⁣
⁣
We’re about two hit two years since Jim entered rehab and I’m forever proud of the changes he made and the man he has become⁣
⁣
For the person reading this who loves an addict. It’s changed you, I know. It made you a little harder to reach. It made getting out a bed a little rough. It’s isolated you from groups of friends. Your hearts a little more closed off then it once was. Your trust is a little bit broken. You’ve felt more alone then you ever have. You’ve felt judged. You’ve felt betrayed. You’ve felt at fault.⁣
⁣
Whether you’re past it or still in the trenches. I want you to know some things. ⁣
⁣
I need you to know that it’s not your fault. I need you to know that you could not have done anything differently. I need you to know that you can’t cure it. You didn’t cause it. And you can’t control it. ⁣
⁣
Most of all I need you to know that it gets better. I need you to know that it’s ok to feel happiness again. It’s ok to put yourself first. It’s ok to take care of your. ⁣
⁣
And you’re not alone. ⁣
⁣
I promise you that there’s a light on this side of the tunnel just waiting for you to walk through. And that light doesn’t mean it’s over, it’s just there to guide you. Because every day could be a battle. ⁣
⁣
I stayed for the battle. But that’s not the only way. If you need to leave that’s okay too. Either way. You have to get to that light. ⁣
⁣
Don’t be afraid to reach out for help. Go to a meeting yourself. Grab a book (Co-Dependent No More, was helpful for me) listen to a podcast. Get yourself a village. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF⁣
