Minimalist Skincare Routine

Alright, I’ve been asked repeatedly for a simple skincare routine, a skincare routine for a minimalist, a skincare routine for the lazy girl, a skincare routine for any way you want to slice it. And I’ll be honest, I didn’t know if I could pull it off. My normal skincare routine is super intense and product heavy. But there are days when I don’t have it in me to do it all and I realized that I already had my very own lazy girl skincare routine for certain days, products and steps that I do even when I feel like doing nothing.

The Lazy Girls Guide to a Skincare Routine. With details on how to pick the right products from Philadelphia lifestyle blogger, Hairspray and Highheels

So I’ve paired these routines as much as I possibly can and separated them into day and night. It works out to about 7 or 8 products total.

Morning Skincare Routine

So for your morning routine, you’re going to want to cleanse, tone, treat (depending on skin needs), eye cream, and, moisturizer (you’ll want one with SPF to pair your routine down).

Nighttime Skincare Routine

For your nightly routine you’re going to cleanse, tone, exfoliate, eye cream, moisturize.

This can work out to about 6/7/8 products depending on your need. Your cleanser, toner, and eye cream are going to be the same for both day and night. If you go with a hydrating serum your can toss that into your nighttime routine and have extra moisture. Your moisturizer can be the same for both day and night if you want the additional step of using a straight spf on it it’s own in the morning, but to keep it simple I would plan for two moisturizers.

I’m going to go ahead and share some of my favorite skincare products in each category so you have options from affordable to luxury depending on your budget.

FAVORITE CLEANSERS

PCA SKIN Creamy Cleanser // CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser  // La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Cleanser

FAVORITE TONERS

PCA SKIN Hydrating Toner  // [KLAIRS] Supple Preparation Unscented Toner

FAVORITE SERUMS

PCA SKIN C-Quench Antioxidant Serum // Vichy Minéral 89 Daily Skin Booster Serum // Vichy LiftActiv 15% Pure Vitamin C Serum Brightening Skin Corrector // PCA SKIN Hyaluronic Acid Boosting Serum

FAVORITE EYE CREAMS

PCA SKIN Ideal Complex Eye Cream  // Pixi Beauty 24K Eye Elixir with Gold Collagen Energizing Peptide Serum

FAVORITE EXFOLIATION

Pixi skintreats Glow Tonic // I’m only putting one option here, a chemical exfoliant. This is a must-have in your skincare routine and not only does the glycolic acid gently exfoliate skin to reveal healthy, glowing skin underneath, the ginseng improves circulation to keep your skin looking great.

FAVORITE DAY MOISTURIZERS

Olay Regenerist Whip Light Face Moisturizer SPF 25 // La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer // Cetaphil Fragrance-Free Daily Facial Moisturizer

FAVORITE NIGHT MOISTURIZERS

PCA SKIN Silkcoat Balm  // THE TRUE CREAM AQUA BOMB – BELIF  // LANEIGE Water Sleeping Mask
