Thinning hair is a common problem especially for men who are above the age of 30. Menshealth reports that it’s inevitable for around 25% of men under 30 to lose their hair. This number goes up by more than 60% when you celebrate your 60th birthday. If you are not suffering from tonsorial trauma, it is possible to make your hair thick again. Below we have 5 clever tips you can start using today to make your hair thicker.

1. Go for A More Flattering Cut

 

 

Many men opt to play with partings or deal with baldness by growing out the hair. This does not end up looking flattering for most. In such a scenario, you may find that a shorter cut will give you a more flattering look. You can also invest in the best stubble trimmer to work on your beards so that your facial hair can be in sync with the look on your head.

Unstructured or classic crops are ideal if you still want to have some hair to play with. These give the hair a denser look because the areas experiencing hair loss are not overly exposed.

It is best to use a hat that will offer full-coverage protecting your scalp to avoid these problems. It is also advisable to apply sunblock on any patches that are exposed to prevent scorching.

 

3. Load Up on Healthy Fats

 

Experts agree that a diet full of healthy fats is great for growing a healthy and thick mane. While genetics may determine the texture of your hair and curl, diet also plays a role in expressing these genes.

Consume foods with plenty of quality protein and good fats as well. Some of the recommended foods include avocados, olive oil, Omega 3, vegetables, nuts, and fruit. These will give you the key ingredients you need to grow thicker, and stronger locks.

 

4. Wash your Hair Wisely

 

Avoid washing your hair every day because it strips the natural oils and proteins that allow it to thrive. Limit this to once or twice a week. While you are at it, make sure you are using the right products that will restore your hair and scalp.

Where possible use shampoo, conditioner, masks, and oils made from natural products. Ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, keratin, pro vitamin B5 and salicylic acid are also beneficial for your hair. Great quality specialist thickening shampoos and conditioners can also do the job well.

 

5. Do not Sleep on your Scalp

 

Healthy hair originates from the scalp. The scalp boasts of a microbiome of fungus and bacteria that is necessary to keep the hair and skin healthy. Your primary responsibility is to keep a healthy balance of natural oils and moisture. This way, the scalp will not be compromised aiding in the growth of thick hair.

We’re about two hit two years since Jim entered rehab and I’m forever proud of the changes he made and the man he has become⁣

For the person reading this who loves an addict. It’s changed you, I know. It made you a little harder to reach. It made getting out a bed a little rough. It’s isolated you from groups of friends. Your hearts a little more closed off then it once was. Your trust is a little bit broken. You’ve felt more alone then you ever have. You’ve felt judged. You’ve felt betrayed. You’ve felt at fault.⁣

Whether you’re past it or still in the trenches. I want you to know some things. ⁣
⁣
I need you to know that it’s not your fault. I need you to know that you could not have done anything differently. I need you to know that you can’t cure it. You didn’t cause it. And you can’t control it. ⁣

Most of all I need you to know that it gets better. I need you to know that it’s ok to feel happiness again. It’s ok to put yourself first. It’s ok to take care of your. ⁣

And you’re not alone. ⁣

I promise you that there’s a light on this side of the tunnel just waiting for you to walk through. And that light doesn’t mean it’s over, it’s just there to guide you. Because every day could be a battle. ⁣

Don’t be afraid to reach out for help. Go to a meeting yourself. Grab a book (Co-Dependent No More, was helpful for me) listen to a podcast. Get yourself a village. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF⁣
